Well hello, so I met this girl on POF and her name happens to be Eileen Lynden Campbell. She had said that while she requested a leave that I need to request a leave on her behalf as well and had to write to the British Army. Here is the address I was given and the response I had received:

[email protected]

Attention: xxxxxxxxx,

We received your request for leave on behalf of LCP Eileen Lynden Campbell and the leave request has been initiated. We need for prove to show that both of you are committed and know each other. We need you to provide us a copy of her picture and she should send us an attested letter to confirm your request from us. So we want you to forward the picture to us to confirm that you truly know each other. Also, the leave request is going to incur some charges to cover logistics.

We shall confirm the leave request.

British Army Command Base.
Yours In Service,

Now she had told me today that the logistics is to cover communication costs between the US and the U.K. And I am not so sure about it. Here is her information:
Name:LCP Eileen Lynden Campbell
Regiment:2nd Signal Regiment
Military ID:Q23986
Base: Rhein Main Air Base Frankfurt Germany

Is there a way to help me with this and tell the facts and the truth behind all of it? I have pictures of her too but don't know how to add them.

It is 100% a scam. The scammer is playing all roles.

Please post the email address of the fake military member.

These scams often originate in West Africa.

Scammers behind these scams are often young African males.

Some users of online dating websites have reported making contact with others claiming to be British Army soldiers on operations around the world, in particular, Afghanistan.
Typically, they have reported building a relationship over time, through correspondence and exchange of photos etc - but eventually there is an attempt to defraud when the spoof soldier either asks for bank account details to transfer a significant amount of money, or by asking for money to enable them to go on leave.
The former is a long-established scam (known as "advance-fee fraud") while the latter is a new, but outright, con. British forces personnel on Operations do not have to pay to go on leave, or to pay for flights, or replacement personnel.
Anyone in such a position should cease all communications and contact their local law enforcement agency.

Penpals
We do not encourage the use online dating sites and would advise military personnel against adding their personal details to dating sites or those offering to set up penpals.

While we thank members of the public for supporting our troops, we do not have an authorised system for penpals and cannot endorse any websites offering these services.

Remember: people online may not be who they say they are.
