Is this one real or not?

HI. I have posted on here before about a guy I chatted with from Match.com who turned out to be a scammer. Since then I have chatted with 3 other guys, also scammers trying to get money. I have been learning to read the signs fairly quickly and I am now pretty gun-shy about any of them. I have recently started chatting with another guy from Match.com but I am unsure about his intentions. I am posting his IP header in the hopes that someone can tell me if he is legit or not before I invest my time and energy getting to know him. I am beginning to wonder if there are any "real" men on dating sites.

This part of the header:

X-Originating-IP: [168.216.53.96]

tells us that the writer was using a proxy server. A proxy server 'by-passes' someone's own Internet Service Provider's IP address (and location), and hides where somebody is really writing (or accessing the internet) from. This is not always 'suspicious'! Sometimes people use a proxy server as part of internet security.

Do have a read through 'Are you falling for a love scammer?' here:

and see whether anything sounds familiar.

If you are still not sure - you could mention the things that seem a bit suspicious to you - and/or post his first or second email to you. Which might help us to identify whether or not this is a scammer.

At the moment, while we don't know, I'll just take the writer's email address out of the headers. If we find out in a while that it is a scammer, the email address can go back in - we'll be happy then to expose it and let everyone else know too that this is a scammer. But we'll be cautious at the moment, just in case it is a genuine correspondent.
