I am not sure how your government or law works in Australia. Here is what my boyfriend said and it was hilarious. OMG, that is not to far from where I live. Just give me the exact address and I will take it to them. Yeah that pretty much scared them. This is after he baited them online for over 4 hours. The only way the authorities will get involved in the United States is if the scammer or their associates are here. If the real drop person is in Australia, I am not sure what your government would do. My brother and boyfriend are both ex military and if they or their families were in need of something while they were serving, the Gov would step in and help. Good Luck, and not all people on dating sites are scammers. I actually meet my boyfriend on one and that is after running into over 50+ scammers. Just got to weed out the toads.

It is very unlikely that the scammer is in Australia. The most likely scenario is the following:

Unlike what many people claim, money sent through Western Union can be picked up anywhere, regardless what adress you are sending it to. The name and adress you received might be one of a previous victim or one he just found online to avoid suspicion. If they requested another form of payment the odds are big we are dealing with a mule here. Could you please send me the email where payment is requested, preferably with a set of headers? If you don't know what headers are or how to find them let us know which mail provider you are using and we'll guide you through the process.

Either way, it is a bad idea to continue communication. I strongly advise you to stop mailing/calling/chatting/whatever and drop him completely.
