My mom was sent a game request on words with friends, shortly into the game the man began to message her. He imidiatlty asked her to add him on Facebook, his Facebook has one photo of him no friends other then 4 people and they are all in foreign countries primarily Nigerian. Although this man claims to be from Texas. He imidiatlty asked her for her phone number and email address. He claims his wife died and he's raising his 4 year old daughter alone. He imidiatlty told my mom he's interested in a relationship with her. My mom is lonely and trusting. I spent over and hour explaining all the dangers and every reason why this looks suspicious and she says she gets it and promises that if he asks for money she will block him and not send it. I messaged him myself and warned him that I knew he was a scammer and I check my mom's messages daily and i would report him if he asked her for anything personal. Instead of understanding my concerns for my mom he imidiatlty blocked me and then got angry with my mom that I messaged him expressing concerns. Even though I have gone through the ins and outs with her she still keeps talking to this person. I just want her to block him and stop talking to him. There are so many red flags and it's like she doesn't get it no matter how I explain it. She says she is being careful but I'm not convinced. I feel bad because she thinks I don't want her to have a relationship but that's not the case at all. I can smell a scam a mile away with this person. I'm afraid she will send him money and not tell me even though I've warned her. Any tips on how to help me get her to stop speaking to this person? I've told her all the sob stories and tricks he will eventually play to get her to send money. Even though I've told her all this she still believes this person wants a relationship with her. I'm at my wits end
