Hi , I have been talking to a guy ( Prince Adheesh) who I was introduced through online matrimonial website http://www.nrishaadi.com . His profile was posted by his uncle who contacted me and said that he wishes his nephew who is a Surgeon with united Nations to get to know me for marriage ( to give background I am Indian origin so yes Online matrimony is a big thing there ).. I received the following email from his nephew from the following address - <[email protected]>

"To tell you little about me and my family we are basically from Coimbatore but born and bred up there in New York US. But currently working with UN peace keeping mission here in Syria/Turkey boarder as a Surgeon. I completed my bachelors degree from Columbia University New York, and went further to ascertain my Masters in Cambridge University UK. My work also entitles me to traveling alot. but like every other job i get my vacation when due, And please for effective communication add me on hangout it will be better that way."

And so we started chatting on google hangout where the message exchange at the beginning felt genuine , his diction/ writing skills left me with an impression of an educated and well read man.. but slowly here and there I could read or feel red flags when he mentioned something like everything was super secret at the UN camps , he couldn't tell me the name of his exact camp location even though I told him UN publishes most of their peace keeping locations , he said email are monitored he can't receive or send files attachment .. the video call option in google hangout was also blocked on his end , he doesn't have access to personal phone or laptop.. he was using a palmtop to communicate with me which he got from his senior ( Director of Operations) .. His profile on the shaadi.com forum was also erased .. which he told him he asked his uncle to remove since he found me ... anyway I did put up with all these excuses ..He is of course taken with me and wants to marry me as soon as possible ( calls me enderaingly his Angel! ) The big red flag for me started popping when he brought up the topic of meeting in Person for which he has to take " Unofficial" leave to come to the U.S. and I need to help him out with the travel/ticket fee .. He said his credit card is blocked and he has no access to real money and only can use an Agent based in the camp to book his tickets ...I need to send him money using Western Union for buying ticket which he will immediately payback once he is out of the camp .. I stopped talking to him after this incident for a while but again started back as he was very persistent with his message about missing me and begging me to trust him , he didn't want to lose me and felt helpless that he can't do much to prove or bring me into confidence .. on my end He sounded a really good match on paper as a practising surgeon with UN ( earning in $700k plus) , we talked about lots of topic and it was always interesting communication , his timing to come online and then knock off work were in sync with the Turkey local time .. so it all made me feel I was not talking to an illiterate or not a genuine US citizen so for me meeting him in person was becoming a big deal .. with the doubts on back of my mind about his identity being authentic I asked him to prove his identity and requested he sends his employment letter with UN, his certificates from college or medical school anything that will give me confidence .. He send me an employment letter ( which i want to get verified from someone here) that had lot of english diction error but he said thats something not with his control if he was given such a poorly written letter .. His bachelors certificate was from Columbia university and his medical degree certificate looked somewhat genuine but these days they can be duplicated easily ... with him starting to share more of his pictures, data I thought maybe its genuine may be I should take that leap of faith even having these nagging thoughts and hence ended up sending him $500 Western union to Turkey location for his ticket ( which btw I had to negotiate as he asked $1500 flying business class but then I send him all possible flying route from Turkey to US in Economy class and said if I am sponsoring he has to lower his ego and standard and get tickets thats within $500..) In return I told him to share his ticket confirmation /details which to my greatest surprise I received immediately a flight confirmation wth KLM from Turkey to NYC .. The ticket confirmation he sent me showed the ticket was booked by someone named Phil Anderson living in Levent, Istanbul, Turkey ...
so I had my hopes up again about this meeting him for first time in person since the tickets got booked .. and then he threw another curve ball at me and said he got to know recently tat he can't get out of the camp without some sort of Border pass for which he has to pay $3500 !!!! ( its refundable once the pass is submitted back) , He was not aware of this rule as he never applied for Unofficial Leave before , this got me pissed off and I told him NO! I can't help him out and if needs help he has to get his uncle to sort him ( who is coincidently also in UK in detective/secret mission) . He said his uncle agreed to help him with $1500 but I have to help him with the rest of the amount so that we can make this meeting happen !!! ... thats where I drew up line and we are still arguing about this whole border pass .. I told him I need official email and confirmation and details about this Border Pass to even think about helping ... He again managed to send me a letter which he claim he had to go through hell to get that says about this $ 3500 to be paid so that he doesn't break any UN employment rules for contracted official .. I have high doubts about the authencity of this Letter as it looks like a poorly edited doc ..
I really want someone to help me clarify and confirm what I am seeing in infront of me is indeed a giant big scam or are there such United Nations rules that asks for officials to pay their own travel if they are not due fr vacation ??!!
The flight tickets are still booked and valid for a travel end of Sept so I want to know If I should take that leap of Faith again with the pass or call it quits !!
