Information on romance scams and scammers.

A family member is dating a guy online who I'm pretty much sure is a scammer, but no matter how much research, I can't find any solid proof. I'm sorry if I could have done this without a posting an entire topic, but I was wondering if someone or a group of people could possibly contact me and do your own investigation and whatnot privately, for now. The family member who I believe to be a victim is in complete denial, and if I posted any information, she would probably search online and find this post and be angry. But this is very important, and I would like some help where I can get proof before this gets really bad. He has been having her send him money, even having her take out a loan for $1,000, for a flight to see her that keeps getting delayed, and with the promise of bringing $3,500+ when he gets here; so it matches the basic scammer tactics already, and they've only been talking for about a month. I can't give some info that you might want, since I'm trying to figure this out in secret and can't just ask her questions directly, but I've done a lot of my own research and I think I still can give you enough information to be helpful. I have his email address, name, some extra details I found, and his page on a social network.

Thank you so much. I've emailed all the info I have to your address. If you need anymore info that I might be able to get for you, please let me know, and if I can, I'll try.

Obviously I don't run this site in any way, but I have a lot of contacts across several sites and we can get information if needed. A little self help can be carried out. Try here. http://www.romancescam.com/results.php. You can check Yahoo id with this excellent tool and see what profile pictures come up. Equally enter any email address into the other box and search across all sites shown. Here is another YAHOO ID checker http://www.ymdetective.com/. If you aren't on Facebook then make a basic profile if you don't have one, to enable the search engine.
Aside from Google a colleague of mine has http://www.scamalert4u.com/ and you can search for an Email address there. This last site has a problem because Google bots don't have access, so its data base of 700,000 doesn't show up in Google.
Here is a general IP number checker, and I assume you know about message headers. It can also check email addresses too. http://www.nextwebsecurity.com/LocationTools.asp. You can also check photos here. http://www.tineye.com/ . Negative results don't prove anything except this criminal hasn't been caught and published yet.
I am sorry, but your friend does appear to be involved with a scammer and in denial. She will need you soon, so don't be afraid to support her. In coming here you have done the right thing. The site staff here and most of the experienced members are able to help you. This is what we try to do by being here and posting information. We know every trick in the book, and probably a few more that scammers don't know. One thing to remind you is to never tell a scammer where you got your information from and how. Don't tell it you have found it out. A scammer is a criminal, a lowlife and gets no help.
Believe me I am truly upset to hear of your friends problems and hope it all goes well for her.
