Information on romance scams and scammers.

Hi all,

I am Lily Nguyen from Vietnam. Please help me. I think i have been scammed.

On early May 2018, I've got a friend request from a nickname US Military kelvinscott on Skype and I accepted. I asked him why he knew me and he said that he saw my profile picture from our mutual friend. I believed that. He requested me to write him emails many times while we were chatting on Skype.

He started to ask me many questions about my personal life. He also introduced himself as a US Military colonel (peacekeeping mission) serving in Iraq. He is 43 years old, his hometown is California. He is a widow because his wife was died 6 years ago. They got a son named John (13 years old), studying in UK. He said that he wanted to have a serious relationship with me. He would move to VN to settle down after his last mission.

At first, I didn't want to talk to him because he was a stranger, and i don't trust him. Every time he talked, I was watchful over his words. However, he was so patient to get my attention. I gradually had a good feeling for him. After 1 or 2 weeks, he mentioned he only had $2,000 on his hand, but he needed to pay $3,500 for his son's exam in UK, and his bank got a problem...blah blah blah. I asked him why he mentioned that to me, what he meant. He answered it was ok, he could handle and asked me not to worry.

Then, he continued talking to me without mention of money anymore. Honestly, he was nice, attractive, caring and lovely which made me fall in love with him.

A week ago, he told me that he would have one more mission before getting retired. He would join Syrian war zone from Iraq to backup military forces there. I worried for his safety a lot. A night before he did his mission, he made a video call to me and showed me his face (the same face with his profile picture) in 2 minutes.

Last Sat, he came back to me on Skype by saying that he got serious gunshot wound, and asked me to check email. In his email, he showed me a photo of his wound and said that he would send me a briefcase box containing his medals, belongings and certificates (via a United Nations approved diplomatic immunity express delivery company) from Iraq to VN for me to keep it. He needed some information from me like full name, address, telephone number, email address for him to register it. He put my mind at ease. Hours later, I received an email from a guy so-called Diplomat Steven Watson (UN courier company) asking me for my passport photo so that when he came to VN, he could deliver the box to the right person.

I felt suspicious about that email/diplomat/courier company, so I searched on Google, showing to me that it was SCAMMER. Then I found this website.

I already gave my full name/address/telephone to that Kelvin Scott, but i didn't send my passport photo to that diplomat.

I told kelvin scott that company was a fake. He tried to convince me it was not a fake. He called me via Skype many times. The last words he told me that he got my info, he had his driver to deliver the stuff to me in VN. Then I blocked him.

I also saw his photos under another name on Google.

Please advise me if i am in danger. Thank you.
