call registration scam, SGT Ryan Frye

Hi, i hope that someone can me help me, and sorry my english is not so good. I'm from the netherlands. I being talking to that i thought was a nice guy from the US Army on facebook. He told me he is a militaire police, he is from El Paso (Texas), that is now in Wittgensdorf, Sachsen, Germany, he is 43 years old. That he has 2 sons, when he is overseas, that is children are with the babysitter.

Begin of this week we talk about that we wanna speak to each other. Then he told me that he wil send me a email, that i request for his call acces. I send hem my email adres and phone number. I got email, that i need to confirm that is was mij number and that i knew SGT Ryan Frye. When i did that, the email got me thinking that something was wrong. I googled the email adres, this site comes up in the results. I clicked on it, it was about a topic in 2011, about soldiers wanna go on a Leave.

I read some of the post. I was hoping that it not the same for me. But when i received a message back, that i need to pay 150.00 for MARS. If i want to have a voice communication with The officer and they told me in the email, that i get my money.

I couldn't believed at first. But also many puzzle peaces fell in place, especially when i read more post on here. So i told him that i can't afford the money, so i offert to pay the half. I have still on my facebook, he doesn't know that i know that he is scamming me.

My questions are, what can i do about the scam? Need i get a new phone number. In de source of the email, i found a ip adress 74.208.4.201 , i looked that up too, there was a message that the ip adress was used for scamming.

What i noticed is that on he's uniform says SGT Ryan Frye, but in the facebook url is ryan frey..

Remove him from your FB account do not accept friend request from people you do not know.

Block him on your phone or get a new number.

No, i won't tell him, i saw that on the other post from 2011, that is not wise to tell him that i know. Can i just delete and block him from facebook? need i worry that he's got my number?

You should be able to block him on FB then make your FB account private.

He may try to call or text you with different numbers.

He may even contact you pretending to be someone else.
