Information on romance scams and scammers.

I didn't even know what a "Military Romance" scam was or even existed, that was until I did some research...... I got my very first message on Instagram the other day, claiming to be in the US Army etc. My gut instinct kicked in near enough straight away. To be honest there wasn't much information I could find on the person who contacted me (well claiming to be!) I started to copy and paste some of the things he said to me into Google, and a whole new world appeared in front of me. It's crazy to think this kind of stuff is happening and I never even knew about it. Well I do now and my friends and family will be learning about it too.

* The conversation only lasted a few days, he deleted the Instagram he was using saying that he got rid of it because I didn't trust him. 3 images show up on Google when I typed in his name. When he sent me some photos, different to the ones on Google Image and "his" Instagram page. I used reverse image, nothing was found. I can't seem to find his name used on any other scam websites either. Old scammer using a new name perhaps?

Perhaps you could help other victims by posting some details then, such as the name he was using, photos any email addresses/telephone numbers.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Just found out his Instagram is still there, he's just blocked me. It's private though.

I'm having problems uploading images. Any suggestions?

Mod note: This post was either made by the scammer himself or a confused victim that is trying to legitimise the scammer for some unknown reason.

He is 100% a scam and having pictures in uniform proves nothing.

Dose he send you any pictures of him in his uniform?

Maybe he could be real?

Yeah I have a few pictures, some in uniform, some out. Whether they're recent pictures or not, I wouldn't have a clue!
Something is not quite right though.

I wonder why you are trying to muddy the water "jennyknight".

He is 100% a scam. Legitimate soldiers do not hang around on Instagram looking for love.

And here's the proof that he's a scammer. Real soldiers wouldn't need to steal poems or use scripted replies, they have the intelligence to write their own messages. Barely literate scammers on the other hand have to rely on scripts to hide the fact that their English is worse than a small child's.

Exactly it's the scripted replies that got me wondering. When I found some that were exact word for word-I just knew! Sometimes his English was perfect...keyword sometimes!
I literally can't find anything under the name he is using though. That's why I originally thought it's an old scammer using a new name.
I have pictures that I can upload here, but the thought of sharing someones personal pictures kind of freaks me out (even though I know they weren't "his" to share in the first place.)
