Hello! I'm happy I didn't actually fall in love with the letters from this scammer. He is operating in France on a website called DisonsDemain.fr, an "over age 50" offshoot of the hugely popular site Meetic. Scammers paradise ! Lonely older people. I got suspicious after his third letter. It seemed so impersonal, going on and on about trust and sincerity. It was almost like a form letter. So I started trying to look the guy up in Versailles, where he claimed to be living. No dice. Then I googled a charming passage from his e-mail, about how his daughter describes him as a book you never want to put down once you start reading it. Surprise ! The whole series he'd sent me was copy/paste ! Thank you for sites like these that tipped me off before I got hurt emotionally. Fortunately, I didn't give any personal information. He has just got around to asking for my phone number. In this letter, he made an effort to answer some of my questions and his English isn't nearly as good when he has to write it himself.
Ladies, let's face it. Most tall, handsome, well-preserved widowers don't need to go online to find dates. It's sad but true.
