I am involved in a romance scam with a man I met through a dating app called Coffee meets Bagle. I know he’s in this to get money and has asked for help. I refused to send it and have been upfront with him about my suspicions but he denies this and continues to communicate with me via text and phone. He has a Google phone number that shows up as a US California number but his accent seems to suggest he’s African. I’m in the US and the time difference is noticeable as he disappears during certain times of day even though he claims to live in the US but is currently working in the Caribbean. Anyway, this whole thing fits all the red flags of a scam. I am sure he’s doing the same thing to other women and is using different names and numbers. I just want to warn other women about this person but don’t know the best way to do that and thought this site would be a good start. What should I do? I have a name, email address, phone number which are all fake. I do have another number for him which he called me from when I stopped communicating with him and he freaked out. That came up as a Belgium number. I also have bank account details of a bank in Istanbul. He sends pictures which have not matched any google image searches. The pictures are of the same person but he won’t video chat or send a video message. So likely the man in the pictures is not the man on the other side of the phone. I have been very careful not to share many personal details with him even though he keeps asking. How do I expose this person? Or should I leave it alone and just cut him off?
