James Jordan Pleasants US Army

I have been talking with James Jordan Pleasants for many months now. He says he is in the Army stationed in Syria and he is a Sargent. He claims everything I found on Instagram and on FB someone stole from him but they are his pictures. He says he is 35yrs old from Dallas,Tx and has 1 child. He has never asked me for nothing except a picture of myself. He says he will be back in the USA in May and wants to fly to me to meet in person. I'm not sure what to do or if he is a scammer. What do I do and how can I find out if he is really who he claims he is.
