Information on romance scams and scammers.

I was scammed by Colonel Howard Luis. When I started to inquire about a couple of things--he changed his name to Colonel Howard Jones--and told me about it. I stopped talking to him and blocked him. He has now resurfaced as John Clinton. May 2011-he is now Col Kelvin and back on facebook.
Howard Jones is on HI5 now. Same picture as on a German Military Magazine.

I happened to notice his name today (April 2011-John Clinton)--on Facebook-be careful he is very good.
I have submitted his photo-but it has not been updated yet.

He will tell you that his wife died, and he is in the Army -soon to be retired.
Will ask for a phone, etc.
I will submit the other photos that he had sent me.....what a scammer.

I found out his photo is a professional model taken in 2005.
I already reported him on Facebook--don't know how long he will be out there--but if you see him or he makes contact--be safe-Block and Report him. :yikes:

Hi ScammedbyLouis, good on you that you researched the original photo.

I understand that you hope to drive scammers off of Facebook and other social networking sites. As you can tell, by your experience, scammers just set up a different persona and continue to scam people. Shutting down their account actually makes it more difficult to track them for other victims.

It is easier to for a scammer to set up a new account that it would be to have your user ID changed to "ScammedbyJohn".

The fact that scammers change their presentation so easily is part of what makes this battle difficult. Thank you for posting up the new information you have found.
