Ellen Grant - Kumasi, Ghana - Ann Angel photos.

This scammer contacted me on SKYPE. (Starting to get two or three scammers a week now on Skype.)
Using the Name Ellen Grant, she claims to be age 31 from Switzerland, but now living in Kumasi, Ghana with an auntie. She claimed to be a LPN, but currently unemployed. Her mother back in Switzerland has kidney problems. Poor Ellen can't leave Ghana to be with her mother because she lost her Swiss Passport in Kumasi. Also the poor dear has $10,000 US in debt which must be paid prior to her leaving. Surprise she needs help with that.

She is using photo's stolen from the website of Porn Star, Ann Angel, which she willingly sent via Skype.
She also went on webcam with stolen video's from Ann's website. These were short clips of just a couple minutes each time, then her internet connection would be lost.

Ann Angel is a beautiful blond living in Los Angeles, CA. Eventually when confronted with her using Ann's stolen photos she confessed to using fake photos, because "Western guys don't like Black girls from Ghana." She then sent a photo of a not good looking Black girl.

At this point I blocked and deleted her.

Hi I am from Switzerland, say to this Ellen Grant (and this surname is not so Swiss...) that if she had to leave there, she can contact the Swiss embassy or the Rega, and they will pick her there. Sometimes this scammer has not so much fantasy when they tell stories... Greetings C.

It is true that if a citizen of another country gets stranded, the thing to do is go to the embassy of their home country. Scammers often use this trick hoping that their victim does not know the function of an embassy.

It is best not to argue with the scammer. The will make up stories to cover the lies they have already told. Scammers are liars. I don't believe anything they say and neither should anyone else.

There was no arguement. The proof was presented, she/he/it confessed, and was blocked/deleted.

Beware of self-declared lovers from Khumasi (ghana). Apparently this place is a breeding ground of romance scammers. What they do, I think, is hire a good looking girl (whereever in the world) and include her in a Skype group. In Kumasi they operate the chat sessions including uploading pics of the girl. In this case her name was given as "Queen", with the typical Ghanse surname of Kwame Adomako). The chat is in typical African English. Of course you get the heartbreaking stories. South African girl went to study in Ghana (no good study facilities in South Africa of course !), and left there stranded after her auntie she was staying with died. Of course Queen falls immediately in love with you. Would like to have a video chat with you. But her internet connection is slow because she has not payed her provider for some time. If I you pay all the overdue bills you can chat by video. Only 170 dollar.... ´But perhaps the connection is still good enough for a glimpse of me, I will try`. Then you get an invitation for a video chat indeed. And indeed you get a glimpse of a good looking young lady. But not a black girl in a poorly furnished student dormitory, but of a good looking European lady in a quite luxurious environment. Then the connection is lost. `You see, if you pay my bills we could have a prolonged video chat´. If you ask critical questions you get all kind nonsense stories.
I regularly are invited by both European and African ladies who all claim to be stranded in Kumasi and who need money for school fees, house rent, air ticket etc. They seem to scan Skype systematicaly for potential victims. That they are scams becomes obvious after one chat session and usually I cut off. IHowever, sometimes I let them continue for a while to get an better idea of how the trick is played. Weel, this is one example. Beware of pitiful girls from Khumasi! And of Queen Adomako !! And dont send money !

I hope you didn't lose any money to these scammers.

What they do is actually simpler than that--they don't hire anybody. The scammers simply create a name and story, and an email address to match.

They then go to a modeling site or a porn site (more often porn site these days), sign up using a stolen credit card, and immediately download lots of photos and video of the model they decide to use. They save all of the photos and video to the computer they are using or a flash drive. This way when the site discovers the fraud and cancels the account, they already have the things they need.

The scammer uses the photos throughout their scam, and they use the video to create fake webcam (very easy if you have the right software). The actual model in the photos is not involved in any way.

Well, it could be like that as well. Still I had the feeling that the video was direct and real. I saw a decent looking European girk who reacted on my movements, eg. waving, toasting etc. Even so, it remains a scam of course. No, I did not send money. The scam became obvious when the chat progressed. But they kept sending me messages with lame stories and explanations. I have blocked them now. Please keep watching out for the Kumasi gang.
