I am new here since today. When I read all this about Americans stuck in Nigeria, I think there must be
a 'nest' of them, what they write sounds all the same in a way...
I got scammed by one of these fallen-in-loves and lost about 20000 Euros. When I realized whats going on it was too late. Never believe a man who says that you are the one he was looking for his hole life and that God will find a way to bring us together.
My Nigerian White lover said he was there as a self contractor in the oil business, that he had bought pumps and gas with 10% Ethanol to supply US gas stations. Then there came unforeseen tax and shipping costs which he could not pay cash. He said he had a cheque over 125000 but the Nigerian banking system was too poor to cash it over there. And further more problems with different payments... At the end he kept asking and asking for more and I said I have nothing more and stayed with my words. If not, I could have lost more and more.
Now I wonder if there is a place in Germany, except for the police, where I can declare this scam?

Most of our regular members can tell you after the first few lines if it is a scam, finding proof is sometimes more difficult, there story lines do vary so I dont like to generalise too much but a few points that are very common,

Quick to fall in love
Reasures their own honesty often
A person living in a western country who is travelling for work, in particular to Africa
Often quite attractive and produces studio quality photos at will
poor grasp of english and writing skills for the professional they say they are
Males are often engineers, architects, consultants or businessmen
Females are usually a model or aid worker
Males will often have kids and be devorced or widowed
females will usually be single and no kids
their parents or other family members have often been killed in a road accident, the sagbama higway is a polular road forthe to ide on
Their profiles just about always say they dont drink or smoke and their ideal partner has a very broad range, looking for somebody who is 18 to 100 is not uncommon
Emergencies will pop up that require urgent cash to fix

We are seeing variations in their lies more and more but the same generaly theme is always there.
