Information on romance scams and scammers.

Hi
I too became the victim of a military scam. A guy called Denies Anderson started chatting to me on Facebook and after a few times suggested that I get Yahoo.Messenger. Being the fool that I was, I bought a new phone that was Yahoo.enabled. He started declaring his love for me. In short, similar to what others have already reported, he asked me to write to his Commander asking for military leave, which was going to cost $700USD, which I had to post via Western Union or Money Gram. He became quite insistent that he wanted to be with me in South Africa by Christmas and I obviously had to hurry to get the money to him via an off site agent by the name of Lisa Chasse who was stationed in Portland Maine. I stupidly did send the money but alarm bells started going off when he told me that he had a 'secret' to share with me. He sent me a picture of his 'find' in the picture was a case of money apparently discovered and which could only be sent to me, his 'wife'. I questioned him saying that I could not possibly become part of his scheme. He then dropped that and next asked me to contact his family barrister, via a yahoo.email adress. I had to tell the barister that I was his 'wife' and ask that the inheritence his father left him, be transferred to me - IN SOUTH AFRICA. Now how stupid does this guy get or think I am? I asked him how he expected me to explain to authorities in SA how I, a single parent of 3, came about this vast sums of money. Then I started reading the internet for SCAMS and low and behold found that indeed, I was a VICTIM too. But I thank God that I am such a realist: how can a guy who has yet to see me, want to send me hundreds of thousands, AND want to relocate after a couple of chats online???? I must be honest: he lured me in and once I was emotioned invested, my sense of vigilance dropped just ever so slightly. It is just a darn shame that innocent people's identies are stolen becuase I am convinced the guy who was talking to me behind the photo of 'DENIES ANDERSON' is indeed of African descent. His language is poor in places. He is very sneaky, and emotionally immature. However, I told him in my last email that I was going to send this to every possible link that I could find. AND That I hope that GOD will avenge the countless innocent people that has fallen prey at his hands.

TO all the single ladies. I know this is a blow to one's self-esteem. But don't loose hope. The right guy is out there and he is going to find you. KEEP HOPE ALIVE!
