After I got back from last .... I met someone online, and started talking.

He claim to be from Ohio, and this is what happened:

He said he had a joboffer in South Africa. I asked him why he was going there, and he told me that he couldnt get another job, and had to take that job. I said a little bit about how I found things in Africa, and we talked a bit more, before I logged off.

Now, we started talking every day. Usually at night-time, actually. And all the stories he came up with, made me really start thinking. He told about the work he did, constructing some buildings, and all the stuff I had told him about came up as things HE had experienced.
The lights out every evening, (lack of electricity make hotels have generators going some hours every night, usually untill midnight, when they turn them off). But weird enaugh, where he was, the one who worked at the hotel kept the generator on until 4 am? NOT TRUE!
Then he told he had been using a taxi, ( that is expencive if you dont have the money), and he needed to find another way to get to work. I told him to get a motorbike or something.
He said he had so little money, could I send him some, he would sure pay me back, just had to get a hold of his friend who owed him money, but that friend couldnt send him the money, so I needed to open a paypal-account to help him, I refused. He got mad.

We talked on. He suddenly told me he was sick, ended up in hospital. I didnt hear from him for a while. One boy where he worked, 15 year old, had been working at the site, fell down, got very hurt, he payed for his hospitalstay, boy died, and he felt very sad.
He himself stayed in hospital for couple of weeks, with typhus (sp).

THEN he told me he had been stoped by the police, didnt have his passport with him, had to pay them 4000 dollars? And I wondered, but didnt say anything, pretended to believe him. I was a little shocked, since he first said he had NO money, and suddenly he payed 4000 dollars?
Naaa, not true.

I was on my way to the USA, so I had payed my tickets, all was done, when he suddenlysaid he had ordered ticket to come meet me, and he also said: Honey, I will pay everything now, you dont have to think about anything.
I said no. He got mad, sent me a txt saying "I dont see us together, so I have ordered tickets to Ohio in stead. I said good for you!

Now, IS this a scam? Was I right in my thinking? He is also on FB, and say there he live in England.

I cought him in one lie, I saved all our talk, and he told me about his dad, who had taught him everything he knew. Just a few days later he told me his dad was never there. I showed him what he had said before, and he got soooo mad. And that was when I really started to look at what he said, and how he said things.....

I just want to know if he is a scammer. IF he is, I will find the picture and name, even though I have not got his emailaddy anymore.

Thank you for the help!

BTW, I said I could come down to be with him there, but he always said no...lol....Oh,I was scared, maybe thats why I was so careful..;)

THEN another one also asked for money, 10 thousand dollars! Also "living" in USA, but based in Malaysia. He say he live in Virginia, USA. I wonder why I get all those scammers coming on?

Hi losteverything. Scammers some times send out random emails. It sounds like your email address is posted some place scammers go to look for victims. Have you posted your information on any kind of dating or find a friend site? Do you have an account on Facebook? If so, do you have your email address where anyone can find it?

You might even consider changing your email address if you are getting so many emails. You can also tighten up your spam parameters in your email account and have that kind of email go to Trash. You can also just ignore / delete emails from people you do not know in person.

It is not necessary to respond to every email that comes into your email account. :D

Yes, I am on FB, but have all of my info there hidden. I never answer emails from people I dont know..;)

I have had so many "nice" mails, about winning the lottery, or got some money from here and there, that if those were true, I would have been a billionair....lol.....

No, I met these guys on a datingsite. And thats where they are, to scam people. I am on one site, where it have been started a group where we post names, pics, and mailaddy for those scammers. But I am really thankfull to have found this group. Just hope I can be of any help to keep people away from at least a couple of them!

We like to have links to scammers profiles , with email addys ,as it can harden the evidence and others may find it too.
You didn't know but you educated the scammer and made him better. He couldn't remember where the info came from but gave it all back. We always stress this, but of course it isn't your fault.
