Need help

A friend of mine met a woman online. They have been talking for a couple of months and are madly in love and talking about marriage. He has sent her several hundred dollars to help with a situation she was in. Something just doesn't seem right to me about this woman. I was wondering if this is a scam. Here is the information I have about her.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before my friend really gets hurt.

It will help if we can get more information but the name itself is a big red flag. It is not British or American. It is Yoruba, which means it is Nigerian.
