scam victim??

Hello there,
a few months ago,I met a guy on datingsite.
He sent me a lot of e-mail like this:

He sent me his pictures, and after he called me from South Africa number.

Sometimes he sent me some sms then stopped and then I sent sms to him because I did t hear him.

Then he told me he was planning to visit me, but he had problem with his credit card so he wanted the money for the flight. I sent money by Western Union.
He sent me the number of ticket reservation and really it was a valid ticket!!!
But when I was waiting for him at the airport he did't come.
So after 2 days I received 3 sms from a hospital nurse that said he had an accident.
I received an e-mail from the hospital when they ask me to go ahead with the surgery because he has'nt a family.
He called me because he needed money for the surgery, but I did't sent money.
Because I was suspicious and very upset a wrote him "You have me fraud", he answered "The kind of woman I want is one that will love me and trust me I see you are not the type,I m fine I will take care of my self and the bills thank you, I will pay the money u sent to me back, Bye"
After I tried to call him but I did t answer for 2 days.
Today I received again a sms when he said "hello Honey, I need ask you the doctor is saying I can leave by wendnesday, but I don't have all the money".




I don't know if I am scam victim, please help me.









Now after 1 week he told me he had the surgery and he asked me some money to pay the bill.

I'm sorry to tell you that this is a classic romance scam. The writing tells me that the author is not Australian. The entire scenario, and the writing are standard African romance scam.

He was never flying to see you. With some airlines, it is possible to book a flight online and print a ticket before you have paid. Then, if you haven't paid within a certain time, the ticket is automatically cancelled. This is most likely what he did--he just went far enough to print a ticket to convince you, then he didn't pay for it. In a few cases, the scammer will actually buy the ticket, then will cancel it as soon as the victim has confirmed it is real, and will take the cash (which is all he ever wanted anyway.)

Hospitals cannot email someone asking for medical decisions. Things like that are not allowed in any country that I am aware of.

Everything he has told you is a lie. The name and history were fake, and the photos were stolen off the internet. He copied romantic poetry and letters off the internet too. His whole purpose has been to steal your money.

Please cut off all contact with this scammer immediately. Block him from your email and IM , don't take any calls from him. If you remain in contact with him, he will continue to lie to you in an effort to steal your money. If he realizes you aren't going to send any more money, he may even become threatening. I am sorry to say that you will not get the money you already sent back.

You've posted his details here (but please add his email address), so that anyone who does an Internet search will arrive here.
As you've actually lost money, you should report it to your local police. It won't result in his arrest or the return of your money though, but the more people who report scams, theeasier it for the police to realise the extent of the scamming problem.

I'm afraid not. There is Interpol, but it's a small organisation that coordinates action between national police forces. It does not deal with the general public.
Romance scammers can be very persistent, so you just have to keep ignoring him. Reply and he'll keep trying to manipulate you.
There's no need to worry about him having your address. He's in West Africa, and interested only in your money, not revenge.

Yesterday throught Google images I found a lot of people with the same pictures that He sent me.
So I want to report this scam.
I reported the abuse on the dating site when I met him, but I think he is using other site as Facebook, My Space...
Now the only important thing for me is show up this scam!!!

Sad to read the story Pallina. If you drop the email header into any analysis tool, it should give you the origin of the sender. I can say with no fear of contradiction the writer is not Australian. Is good you reported it to the dating site. If said dating site has a blog or forum, perhaps make a post for other site members may be a good idea? Even though the scammer has your residential address etcetera, it's been my experience that is of little relevance! It's all been about getting his slippery fingers inside your purse, because you have been viewed as a source of revenue. He will not confront you because it's real identity will then be known.

I reported to to the dating site, but I have seen the member is still in there?Why?????
I want alert others because I think this is a terrible person.
Today I wrote a sms to him: "let God sort them out".

Hello Pallina, I understand you want to hurt the scammer. They do not care, so you cannot hurt them.

Your best course of action is to stop all communication with him. He will only try to draw you back into the scam.

Sadly, getting his profile deleted on the dating site does not stop him. He will just resurface with a different profile name and possibly different pictures. We don't encourage closing accounts because when we have identified a scammer, we have a bit of a handle on his scam.

Please stop communicating with him because nothing good will come of staying in contact. Also nothing good comes from telling the scammer you know he is a scammer. Telling him you have repoerted him does nothing either. He will just move on to find another victim.

I stopped all communication with the scam.

I don't know if you know but you can image search with Google, it's one of the search options called Images. I right click on the pic in profile and a list pops uo and one is "save as". I save it to desktop for convenience and make the Google page smaller and drag the photo to the search box. Once done I usually trash the pic and note the URL if any associated with it. It's a great way to check if someone is real or a scammer but the results must be used sensibly. Not finding the pic does not mean the person is cleared.

Ur experience just simillar to me..
We are been blinded by all those sweet word and we are just too honest..
For them..they just want our money and they never borther that we have to work hard to earn our living..
So..in future we need to be more carefull and just thank to the GOD that we are still healthy and able to enjoy our life with our family and friends...
