Is this name familiar or part also to any scam?
This guy has just come into a profile of one of my friend in tagged.com
I suspect that it is a scam also.
Any information is very grateful.
Thank you,
cantik

Hello,

Compliment of the season to you and your family members. How are you doing? Hope fine. As for me, I am living by the grace of God. I pray to God that this mail will reach you in good condition of health.

I have received all kinds of friendship request but I was overwhelmed when I came across your profile. Well my name is Thomas Gabriel. But my friends call me Tom. I am 40 years- old man from United States of America. Single and never been married.
I joined this site due to lack of the right partner in life. My e-mail address is:
[email protected]

I am working and what I get every month keep me going in life. But I am lacking the right lady in life, which people find as common thing on earth. But that is what troubles me all night and day. I need a lady of understanding, caring, trustworthy for a serious relationship.

Please for further communication do reach me through my e-mail address.

Please take good care of yourself.

Yours in Love,
Tom.

I am comfortable calling it a scam based on the first line.

While there were no exact hits on the first sentence, there are quite a few with similiar wording.

A search on the email address will remove any doubts Click Here

Once again, we have someone claiming to be from the US when the language clearly contradicts that claim. There is absolutely no way he is from the US.

As Ralph said, the wording is very typical of scammers.

Even in the first email we have elements of a standard script:
-flowery, romantic language from the beginning, e.g. I was overwhelmed when I came across your profile,
Yours in Love This guy will likely be ready to declare an engagement within a week.
-references to God early
-hints at difficulty or tragedy in life (which will most likely form the basis for money requests later)
-no names (he hasn't gotten to terms of endearment yet--that will be the 2nd or 3rd email, but note he still uses no names so he can send the email to many women at once).

He wants to move out of the dating site and onto email right away so he doesn't lose the victim if someone else reports him as a scammer and gets his profile shut down. If it does get shut down, he will tell each of his current victims that he took the profile down because he found the right lady.
