Hello Baby,

When things go wrong i have always picked myself up and worked through it, when things have gone wrong for others i have always been around to help, this is the kind of person I am and will always be. Now and again i need someone to lean on as i am only human, up until now i have been able to ask myself but since we meet up on here i feel it is wrong to lean on anybody now as we are together. I was so happy when we got together and really felt special! you know I’m away to make a living and need to be away until my work is complete but i need you to lean on at this moment .I'm having financial issues right now please I do really need your assistance. My Feelings is strong and hope we can get over these teething problems. Baby hope this would not change what you feel for me. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Morgan

Cross referenced with some old friends of his on facebook, they said LEAVE THAT FOOL ALONE!!!
So, he's been running this scam for a while now.

What do you think? Am i being scammed or setup for a scam?

Absolutely yes, you are being set up. It's a scammer.

If you are picking the right one from the header there could be many reasons why it doesn't look suspicious. Let's have the IP and you'll get a bit more intel if available.

Sorry for the disjointed nature of this thread. At first I posted my suspicions, then edited it because I felt it had too much info to identify me to the scammer personally. Now I just don't care. It really pisses me off when people think I'm stupid and gullible.

Yes that's a classic example of a romance scam. Don't worry about the headers. Gmail removes most of them, so they don't tell you where the sender is. Almost certainly Lagos, Nigeria though, the only true bit in his email.
Can you post his first email please (without your details). His "name" and email address will help alert other potential victims.

Welcome iByte,

As the others have already said, this is absolutely, beyond a doubt, a romance scammer.

Since he presumably has some real information about you, we do not recommend "playing" with him. He is a criminal, and it is never a good idea to play with criminals.

It's not unusual for a scammer like him to circle the money issue for a while before directly asking. He would rather his victims offer money first, because later, when they start to question whether he is real, he can point out that he did not ask them for money this first time. He can use that as a way to keep them hooked a little bit longer, and maybe get one more payment out of them.

The problem is that in the meantime, he is very likely playing other women using the same fake identity. The longer you wait to post his information, the more likely another woman he is scamming will think he is "safe" because she doesn't find anything negative about him. That's why it is better to post the information as soon as possible. If you post some of his emails to you, we can also likely point out many of the signs in the actual emails that further demonstrate that you are dealing with an African scammer.
