Ok, so I am talking to this female online. She has provided pics, she said she would like to meet with me, but since she is a model I can't meet her till her contract is paid. She is asking me to send money to her company in the Philippines to pay for the contract. Once the contract is paid we can meet. She said she is in the same city as me, but said they keep her in the hotel all day or just to work her modeling job.
I asked if she can call me, she said no because of her modeling contract. She gave me the messenger for her manager. I asked if we can meet in person so I can pay for her contract, he said no. He said it was more secure to send the money online. He said I need to pay the money to the accountant who works for the company in the Philippines. Their company is sdmodels and he said they are a world known company.
Is this a scam or does the modeling world actually do this?

It's a scam. The modeling world does nothing like this.

"She" can't talk to you on the phone, because "she" is actually a "he" who simply copied the photos of a real model and is pretending to be the model. If it's worth enough money to him, he will have a female (could be a family member, friend, or a female who is being paid to play this role) get on the phone with you, but he needs to plan any calls for when he has a female available.

Hello godiamo, it is a scam, I presume *she* wants you to send the money via western union?

This is a fairly common approach by scammers, I don't know of any similar cases where it hasn't been a scam.

Don't bother replying to her anymore, all she is after is your money, and you'll never get anything back, or actually meet her.

Ok thank you all for the information, unfortunately its a little to late now :(
And yes, they asked with western union...
Being lonely and desperate can really make you do something dumb, so I guess I'm paying the stupid tax.
I'm definitely deleting their contact right now...
Can anyone tell me how the modeling world really works? and how models really meet people? is there a booking fee? contract fee?

Do you really want to meet someone who has a booking fee?

I do not believe models are looking for a relationship online. If they did charge a fee to meet you, it would sound more like an escort service or prostitution situation.

Desperation is not attractive to most people. Scammers do like desperation because desperate people are often willing to part with their money in an attempt to get out of the situation they are in.

To find a relationship, it is best to meet others in real life. Sitting in front of a computer does not meet the real need you have in my opinion. This is not a dating site, nor do we really advise people on relationships. There are better sites for that.

I am sorry your desperation cost you some of your money.
