My first post here so sorry if not formatted correctly. I'm currently on matchcom, and in my late 40s. This is my first scam encounter.

I get favorited by a late 20s woman (she didn't contact me any other way prior). I noticed I'd been favorited and sent a simple friendly (non suggestive) intro e-mail. First reply:

"What's up !!! Thanks for your reply. I'm very new to this dating stuff. So I really don't know what to write... I know that I am much too young for you but wanted to say - you looking very nice. Let start with e mails first. And take it to another level. Drop me an my e mail if you want to talk:
( NOKOTOK ) at (Y... A... H... O... O...) dot (c... o... m...) p.s. if you are interested, I can send you more my pic. if not, that's ok. "

I send e-mail to her from my gmail account and get following reply (with attached pics):

"First impressions last... I have seen your questionnaire on dating
site. I do not understand why I write this letter for you and what I
want further, but I have got used to trust my internal desires. Maybe
it something means for me... Maybe it something means for you...? I
think we may be right for each other. I would be happy to start
corresponding with you and get to know each other better.
Kevin I'd like to tell you some words about myself. Well...
My name is Yuliya and I am 27 years old. I think I am romantic,
affectionate, reliable, sincere, open, resourceful, eager, witty,
warm. For my long-term relation I could be charming and friendly,
funny and serious. If we feel that our hearts beet together we'll do
anything that we dream about. I do appreciate open and warm relations.
I am an Christian, but not a fanatic, it just helps me to answer some
of the questions life brings.
What else? I am a teacher of musical school and I teach playing on the
piano. I love my profession but family means a lot to me too. I love
nice dresses, nice shoes, but more important is to help if somebody
around needs it. I try to combine being a weak lady and a strong
person. If I succeed in it or not you can estimate at a closer
contact.
I hope, that you test the same feelings as I and you will set to me

I haven't replied to this e-mail as my suspicions became heightened when her matchcom profile was no longer available, and the text of this message is in such broken English (her profile wasn't this bad).

Anyway, been searching scam info online and came across this site and decided to post. I can view the e-mail headers but am not fluent in deciphering them. One thing I did recognize (as some site said was an indicator) was the use of "The Bat!".

I'm now looking for specific trait in matchcom profiles and would like to pass on the following signs to look for: twentysomething looking for men aged mid-30s to mid-50s. Very few limiting preferences if any in her desired match (usually just no smokers and maybe no kids). Usually has just the one photo and they usually are looking in a wide circle of 50-100 miles from their listed location. I've taken to just sending a wink when I find one and notice their profile isn't available much longer.

Glad I didn't let myself get any deeper than just this e-mail. Should I post the pics that were used, and if so, how?

Scammers operate that way. They often lift / steal other people's writings because their command of English does not coincide with the photos they use in the scam.

Your best course of action is to stop communicating with the scammer. All he wants is money from you.

Don't tell the scammer you know they are a scammer. It only helps them learn how to scam better. Just drop him.
