This contact originated on Be2 Online Dating Site, I can't believe the audacity of these people. This is not the first time I have been targeted by persons claiming to be armed forces employees and all the time from the US Army...go figure.
His Be2 profile name is garciablair and we began chatting on Skype, no visual or voice and this name is garciablair2,

[31/10/2011 8:24:26 PM] Garcia Blair: Dear Col. Brook Anderson,
My name is xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and am requesting in writting this letter on behalf of Sgt Garcia Blair who is presently working in IRAQ for the US Army.
I am his partner and requesting 3 months leave on his behalf.I live in Australia and would like him to come over. I would be glad to know how and what the process is for this leave request..I will await your response.
Thank you and best regards

Now although there is no request for money at this stage I have been sent one of these before and the next email then requests money of x amount of dollars and his leave would be granted.
I have stopped all correspondence but kept some information for purposes such as these to report, the other I have already reported to Scam Watch Australia.
These people hurt the people they scam and the people they say they represent and the soldiers where they get their photos from.....they have no shame whatsoever
So online dating site is not safe, no internet social networking is safe, maybe it would be best to meet people the way we used to.....face to face.

Welcome to ScamWarners lem123, and thank you for posting this information. You are correct, a request for money will follow shortly. Sadly you are also correct that scammers are successful and hurt people.

Can you do us a favor and post the email address the scammer used to reply to you? That helps people who are searching to see if they are dealing with a scammer. Thank you! :D

Great stuff lem123. Your post will be seen by many, and people will less likely to be caught in the scammers trap. If you ever receive an email from the individual, posting the email header will also be benificial.
