Hi I meet this US Military man on an online dating and we exchange emails. He claims he is currently posts in Kabul Afghanistan. Things goin great, he sends me beautiful, poetic love messages. Recently he asked me to apply for his vacation transit leave (B6) and it was approved. The vacation board however writes that they require a 100% security. The letter says the US Govt booked and pay for every expenses concerning every vacation for the top ranked army personnel including flight ticket reservation. Conversation with a Non-Military personnel (civilian) is free but requires 100% security assurance which will require civilian to meet up with the requirement to continue with vacation bookings.

The requirements are:
Security 1000pounds
Vacation Processing 300pounds
Certification Approval 200pounds
Total 1500pounds

It has requested that I have to make the payment to their United Nations office, Lucie Brunet 24 Grosvenor Square, London Uk W1A 1AE via Western Union.

Is this legitimate or just another scam.

I have put my foot down that I will not spare any single cent to internet let alone to someone I havent meet.

Thank you
Thelxxx

Yes, It's a scam!!!

Welcome to Scamwarners, Thelxxx!

This is most certainly, absolutely 100% scam. Please read this thread for more info: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6528

Excellent job listening to your instincts, and researching this scam, before you sent money!!!
Please post the name and email address of this POS criminal who's pretending to be a soldier and playing with woman's hearts, in order to steal money from them. Also if you will post an email or two from him, including the headers, we can probably see where he's sending the emails from. Any other potential victims using google will find your post and be hopefully be saved from being scammed. :D

Hi T. Helen has summarised the situation very well. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=12191 also contains some useful information you may like to read.
The military does not ask civilians (relatives or otherwise) to write to request leave for military persons. This is all handled by the soldier. Secondly, there would not be an exchange of money involved with it.

I cant seem to work it out the process in How to track the origin or header of the email. I print it out and go to options and follow the instructions but no success. And also my ISP keep dropping off, very frustrating.

Can I email and forward the attachment instead? If so please let me know which email addy I will send to.

Thank you again....
