after thinking I was on to a good thing after getting messages from 'Larry' i was stupid enough to think it was real. But then the annual leave form arrived. its the usual story he wrote, wife died, small child, sister died, mum and dad died, and he is still on line now talking to many others and just changed his picture.

the poor guy who identity he is using is the one i feel sorry for. i cant believe that i nearly fell for it.

he goes under the email address of [email protected] or sgt matz on yahoo. he sends lovely photos of him and his son and is in afghanistan - usual thing.

i have also been in contact with a Lt Colonel Stephen Fry. I did check these out on google and the only lead i had was larry matz was on myspace.

i wish i could find out who these photos belong to so that i can tell them was is happening with their photos.

i have sat here and cried all day at what an idiot i was to even believe this lie. i have contacted live.com to report his email as abuse. dont know if anything will get done but its worth a try.

how can these people do this. they have no scruples and no morals.

i recently lost my son so was feeling vulnerable. i told him personal stuff about my family and even sent him a gift - to his agent in america. nothing special but it had my home address on it. i live alone but as its just money they are after, i guess i'm okay and i live in UK.

i know nothing else can be done but i would like to return the photos to the rightful owner. can anyone help with that. i dont know even if larry was the right name.

its horrible to see that i am not the only one but glad i did not part with money.
thanks for reading.

Hello willowdax!

I'm sorry to hear you were targeted by this scammer. I'm glad you caught on before sending the criminal any money. Please do not feel stupid just more educated about scammers now. No one expects to be scammed looking for a romantic relationship unfortunately thousands of low life scammers are trying to steal money this way.

While I understand wanting to report his email address we do not recommend this. It is just a free email address and he can get a new one. The issue is when he gets a new one it wouldn't be posted here like the one you posted. We want people who get suspicious to search his details and find this site.

As far as the pictures go there is really nothing to be done. The genie is out of the bottle so to say. They are already out there in scammer land. It's the risk you take when you post your pictures on the Internet.

Good luck and all the best.

Justin

Welcome to Scamwarners, willowdax!

I'm really sorry to hear that you have lost your son.
This must be an extremely painful time for you, and the scammer took advantage of your being vulnerable. I'm sorry that he further hurt your heart. Thankfully he didn't steal a bunch of money from you as well.

Would you please post a couple of the emails that he sent you? The more info that you post the better. Whatever shows up on google will potentially save other victims fro the scammer matz adams or larry matz using the email address of [email protected]
