Scam or not?

I need to ask, if I am having a scammer of my own.

I was contacted by a man who says he is UK citizen living and working now in Nigeria. I have read much about scams and bells were ringing in my head. He found me on date site. There are many things that gives me reason to think he is a scam, he was looking for real relationship and he is writing very kindly to me and was quite soon in love with me. We have talked in messenger. He has send me many pictures of him also with his parents.

But, i have talked with him in skype too, and there really was white european man that looked like the man in pictures. And he has not asked for money, at least yet. And he is speaking to me, uses my name and remembers things i have said. I have also told him at the very beginning that i have not much money, so i won't send it anywhere and that I have many reasons to be skeptic.

So i am not that sure about is that a scam or not. I have tried to find his pictures or email address from scam information sites, but i have not found it.

Can you possibly help me?

Everything you have said leads me to believe he is a West African romance scammer. There is software that allows you to fake a video call so it is possible he did this. If you can post a few of his initial emails I'm sure we will be able to tell you more.

Just based on the man working in Nigeria, it sounds like a possible scammer. Do you have any emails from him, particularly early ones? The more information that you post, the better we can help you.

Seeing him on Skype does mean too much, unfortunately. There are tech savvy scammers who have fake web footage, in order to "prove" that they are real.

As far as not asking you for money - some scammers are really patient, and will take the time to make sure that their victims are well hooked before asking for money.

If you don't have emails, please post as much info as you can on what he has told you about himself and his job etc.
