I was also a victim of this "wonderful" young romanian lady. She wrote me nearly every day during 6 months. When I discovered that she was a dating-scammer, I immediately sent an E-mail to the romanian police in Galati. She was arrested and strangely she sent me nearly all my money back

In her message, she rarely wrote my name. She used mostly : baby boy. In using Baby Boy she could send her message to a lot of men. She is a liar and she scammed a lot of men until now. It's time now that she stoppes her criminal activities.

I am sorry to hear you have beem caught up in this scam which has turned out rather unusually for you.

It surprises me you have been able to get her arrested and surprises me even more you were able to get your money back, I am very happy it has turned out this way for you.

For anybody else who happens to read this and think that what happened to Girard is the norm, please think again.

It is common that scam victims are contacted by the same scammer who is pretending to be from law enforcement and suggesting they can get your money back for you, in order to receive your money back there will be many fees involved but of course, you will never see any of your money returned.

In this case, Girard got very lucky and I can only presume the police were already compiling evidence against the scammer.

I do have one question for the benefit of anybody else hoping to get money back from Scammers, did you have to pay any upfront fees what so ever to have your money returned to you?
I am confident the answer is no

Many thanks for all your comments. I have to admit that I was lucky to get a great part of my money back.

I think that Gabriel (Gabi) was under pressure of the romanian police. She sent me a great part of my money back and this with Western Union. I didn't pay anything to get my money here. Gabriel, on her side had to pay the Western Union fees, which are not really cheap !!!!!

When I discovered that Gabi scammed me, I immediately tried to find out the E-mail of the romanian police in Galati. That was very simple with Google. I wrote my message in english with romanian translation (using http://www.lexilogo.com). Apparently they understood my message because their reaction was very fast, what can seem surprising in a country as Romania.

Now I check absolutely all my new contacts by using or Google (check of the E-mail address) or http://www.stop-scammers.com. In one month I discovered 19 new scammers by this way and sent a scam-report to http://www.stop-scammers.com.

Ralph, as I have a lot of other photos of this charming "Princess" how can I add them here. I tried but didn't find the way. Thanks for your help

To put photos onto the site you need to first load them onto an image sharing site, one such site is photobucket, you can create a free account by visiting their website http://www.photobucket.com sign up with a fake name and fake details, it is always best to remain anonynous.

Onec you have an account you can load the photos onto your photobucket account from your desktop files by following the steps, I find the old loader works best, once loaded, you can then edit them with the editing feature, it will take a bit to work it out depending on your PC skills but if I can do it, most others will too.

Once you have your photos loaded and ready, you can then post the url (which will be under the photos) the one you want will be the one that has [img]before%20and[/img] at the end

Paste them into your post and if all went well they will display as photos.

We do prefer them to be 600 pixels or less in width and they can be resized on photobucket as well

Give it a go and let us know if you have problems, once you have tried, it will be easier to explain

I just started corresponding with a girl named Gabriel, likes to be called Gabita. I met her on RussianCupid.com. We have not reached the point where she has asked for money. But this was just too good to be true. In her last set of pictures she sent a work ID (very cheesing and fake looking). On the ID was her full name "Gabriel Capatina". I did an internet search and this forum came up. I will signup for photobucket.com and try to post pictures over the next few days.

In my web search I did notice "Gabriel Capatina" is apparently a common name in Romania. But the writing style is too similar from letters posted on this site. Whoever she or he is probably chose this name (has it on a fake ID for cashing Western Union checks), because it's a common name and when confronted can say, "you have me confused with another Gabriel Capatina".

Here is an excerpt from a letter,
