hello i know this guy was a scammer said was back on months leave in states but cant access his money there what bullshit they can cant they said was given $800 to last month he reckons owns his home etc before got back to states said was in nigeria on mission what bullshit i jsut told him he is aliar no soldier cant access there money and to go get alife bloody lowlife hate them

US military people do have access to their a/c at all times.

reason given was i said to him did you get cell phone for xmas i was being sarcastic to him and he said back no but you can send me funds for one thats when i went mental at the plonker

It's unfortunate to say, but silly tossers like that will continue I'm afraid. There are a small number of US troops in nigeria, performing like a peace keeping role from what I'm told.

Please do not believe what the individual is saying to you.
One of the reasons they favour the IM is because the chats cannot be traced. It is safer to simply cease all forms of dialogue with it.

As Jolly_Roger says goldikova, this person is not in the US military. The US does not have troops in either of those locations.
