Hi There
I have been talking to a soldier (reportedly) who is deployed in Afghanistan. Initially his grammar was great (and I have read all the reports about this) its not terrible and not at US education standards. Sad story - Mother died in childbirth in 1975 and Dad adopted him. Both adoptive parents died over the years and they had their own child who is his sister who is just 16. Such bad luck in one family - I find it amazing they think we believe all of this.
It took 3 weeks before he asked me to help him with money to pay another soldier to go on a deadly mission for him. This other soldier has cancer and not many people know about his sickness (supposedly) and he will do what he can to make money for his family before he dies. And in turn by giving 50% of what was asked for it would guarantee that the soldier I am speaking to would not have to risk his life on the mission. The asking amount was $70,000 USD so 50% is $35,000. To be deposited in the sick soldiers wifes account before he would agree to take the his place.
Needless to say I did not part with any or my money at all. He claims he is retiring on the 26th of this month and coming straight to me after 2 days in the states to sort out his money and pension. He also told me the US Army is giving him a house as part of his package and where did I want this to be - I said Hawaii (holiday house lol).
I was then asked for $1000 US to pay for lawyer who has a bill due for an inheritance he is working on - again I said no and he said he was sorry for asking me for money and agreed not to do it again. Please note that he started asking for money when his gmail chat would not work and he opened a yahoo account for us to chat on and asked me to do the same.
A week later he is giving me his sister email address (and I sent her an email) and she responded on chat to me. Her English for a 17 year old native american attending boarding school is also pretty bad.
In the last 2-3 days he has been talking to me on gmail chat but with his status as invisible and I cant seem to recall the messages after we have stopped chatting, I will try to copy and paste them tonight when he is talking to me.
He has told me last night that he has a box of money his General gave him that they found when fighting the Taliban. They gave it to the government who gave them back some of it. In his box he has $500,000. Mind you I asked him why he didnt give cash to the other soldier and he said he cant do that as they are not allowed to have cash and it would have raised suspicion. He is going on a deadly mission in 2 days and has dug up his box (yes it was buried) and passed it to The Red Cross who are taking it to a security detail for him who will courier to to me. I have told him I am not comfortable with this, that the money needs to be declared and I am not declaring it. He told me he will send me the combination which I said I did not want several time and then he said he put a surprise in the box for me so I would need the combination. I said I would speak with the security company as things are very strict where money is concerned and I am not at all comfortable with it.
Today I am expecting to get the details of the security company and his little sister telephone number (its her bday on Sat and he wont be able to call her as he is on mission so he wants me to do this).
I have really started to get suspicious in the last 2 weeks. So have played along to this point. I did do a search on his name and email addresses when he first contacted me and found nothing, I did this again just a day ago and found that he had joined another dating site just 4 days ago and logged in on the one day that he did not speak with me. I screenshot this and sent it to him and he said his friend did it not him, that the birth date etc was wrong and his music taste etc. Anyway - he has since taken this down as I have looked for it again today and its not there. I asked him to take it down.
I would like to send you his ip email details and name to check them our but I dont want to post it online until you check them and can confirm if you think it all adds up to DODGY! Then I am happy to post. Can you please let me know where I can send this information to you?
Thanks so much. I have actually had to use this site before and it was a scammer, who even though I stopped talking to has since sent me msg 6 weeks later telling me he still loves me. Seems I am the one who is not having much luck.
Thanks for your help this is such a great resource.
