I was contacted via facebook by a man who asked "can i know you please?".. as he was friends with a mutual friend of a friend of mine.. i accepted him and we got talking.. he told me he was divorced and his wife had lefthim several years earlier for another man and dumped their son at his sisters... we have talked for about 3 weeks now.. he is telling me he loves me, wants to marry me ect.. he also asked me to request his biography and to tell them please i was his fiancee.. i did as requested and got a biography back.. apparently this man is special forces.. he then said he really wanted to talk to me for real and was requesting a TS2 communicator.. but the TS2 would cost him £500.. and could i help him.. i said no i couldnt... i have no money so it is a bit laughable, if i am a victim of a scammer... then he asked if i could get a loan for £4000 to get him out of the army contract.. he explains that apparently because he is on contract for one year and is expecting a large amount of money at the end of it.. i also told him no.. i couldnt get one and then really told him off... accused him of being a scammer and that he was wasting his time with me..he apologised profusely and said he promised he would never ask me for money again.. that was about 10 days ago and true to his word he hasnt.. but.. got mail this morning saying his sister and son were involved in a carcrash and he was going out of his min with worry.. his son had hurt his arm, his sister was undergoing surgery... nad he couldnt get home.. i asked why cant you get compassionate leave for this.. he said he could but he had to find £850 to fly home and he has nothing.. i said i wish i could help you, but i have no money.. i can give you £40.. which is all i have saved.. he didnt comment on that... he then said he had to go as he was crying and upset... i have sent him a few mails asj=king if he is okay..ive heard nothing... so.. my question is... is this man a scammer and now he realises i have no money just gone? He hasnt deleted himself off my fb account...and im wandering what is really the truth..stupid thing is i fell for this man...and im hurting and feeling so foolish..

Would appreciate any replies of advice.. thankyou.

Welcome to Scamwarners.

This is defiantly a scammer, drop all contact with this guy. He picked you up off of a hijacked FB account.

Welcome to Scamwarners, Sunny stream!
I'm really sorry that you were targeted by this scammer. Thankfully you didn't lose any money to him. The lies that they tell are just unbelievable but can be really convincing. Especially when your heart is involved.
The best thing to do now is to stop all contact. Please post the name and email address that the scammer was using, to help warn other potential victims.

Hello Sunny stream!

Sorry to say this is 100% without a shadow of a doubt a scam. Soldiers cannot have their contract bought out ando not need money to buy satellite phones. Everything he has told you is a lie. He is not a soldier but more than likely a black man from west Africa.

Please stop all communications with him. He is a liar for a living so he will not admit he is a scammer if you confront him..

If you can please post his details like his name email address and his initial emails it could help others avoid this scammer.

I did have alarm bells ringing from the start.. only thing i can thank this man for is it gave me a big reality check... time to get back into the real world i think!!

King Heiny Jose is how it appears on facebook.. he got through to me via a mutual friend... i have talked to him since and yes.. he tried to get me to send him £200.. told him no.. and havent heard from him since...

Talked to a friend of mine who is married to a US army guy today and we decided as this man sent me pictures of someone and also of this someones son who is a young boy... we thought maybe this man isnt aware his identity has been nicked so ive emailed the recruiting agency for US army personnell.. and asked them to pass it on to the relevant department.. as this poor man probably isnt aware of this...i know i wouldnt want my childs picture stolen and sent to strangers in this way...will take him off my account, but will wait a while longer incase the army contacts me to ask for any more information..
