1st Lt. Jonathan W. Edds, 24, of White Pigeon, Mich., died Aug. 17 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.

am Sargent edds by name, am us army, i was deployed here south Africa as combat team leader, i lost my wife 4years ago, i have one lovely daughter she is in boring school under the care of united states of America. i lost my both parent when i was still a teenager. my dad die due to lungs cancer and after 6month my mum developed blood pressure it was later that the medical result confirmed that it was my dads death that was making my mum thinking to much so that was what caused my mums death too. darling you know am crying now bcos you made me remain the death of my late parent and my lovely wife.....darling plz can i have a lil rest rest now bcos my heart is full of sadness now talk to you later darling, i will always love you with all my heart............

These fools really piss me off when they use our military-ESPECIALLY OUR FALLEN HEROES- to try & milk $s out of anyone they can... This just really gets me fired up! Sorry about my little rant there! But i just had to vent! Okay... Now, is it just me or am i seeing a surge of FEMALES in the scamming dept? Not that there haven't been but on this website it seems that the females r catching up with the males. Or is it that males r impersonating females or vice versa? The mind boggles! But can anyone answer me what these scumbags r gunna do when they finally realize that wartime is over?? I am sure they will come up with loads of other scams to work on! Thank God 4 this website!

While there are certainly some female participants, the vast majority of these scammers are males, regardless of what sex they are pretending to be. When playing females they often use photos and video footage of porn actresses, and when playing males they use stolen photos of models and soldiers--in either case, the material is easy to steal, and the person on the other end of an email or chat will have no idea who he/she is really talking to.

As to what they will do when the troops are removed from Afghanistan? You've answered your own question. I personally find that it's easiest to compare scammers to bacteria--as new antibiotics are developed or conditions change, bacteria mutate to survive, and the new bacteria soon become more prevalent. Scammers are exactly the same way. As conditions for scamming change or awareness of one approach becomes widespread, some scammers adapt and change their approach. Those that are successful will continue to make money, and soon other scammers will copy their new approach.
