I was on Match.com and came acroos this man stating he was on a peace keeping misssion in Kabul Afghanistan, he said he Staff Seargent James Ramos in the Army, he started out sweet and romantic, then things started not to add up said he grew up is small town in Florida, but then said Conyors, Georgia, choppy english, repeated sentences, cut and pasted lines, then asked for money to adopt war orphans $1,400 for two. When I told him I didn't have the money, he got very short, abrupt, and demanding, so I stopped talking to him and just wanted others out there to know about this person... when I got back on match.com I came across three others saying the same thing, using the same lines, I couldn't believe it!! Then I was doing another search and came across the picture of Sgt James Ramos but under a different user name as a new member. I reported him two days ago, but as of today he was still there. I wanted to do more than just be a victim and started looking online for scam stories and found this website www.abika.com and www.iptrackeronline.com very helpful. I found out his emails originated from Accra, Ghana, West Africa. When I think about a little African guy behind a computer sending me and many others these emails, I just got sick to my stomach. http://www.scamwarners.com/main/viewalb ... txgirlookn

Welcome to ScamWarners lad47. Yes, scammers use the same story for different photos, and the same photos for different stories. Closing their account causes them very little pain. They just open a new account using the same information and photos but a different email address.

What they do IS sickening. If you put "Ramos" in the search box at the top left of the page you will find many, many posts about the use of the name "Ramos". Not all the same scammer, but the stories are pretty much the same.

Please post the email address this scammer version was using. That is one way we and others track the scammer. I am glad that you didn't lose money and did some searching.
