Was recently contacted by this woman going by the name Lucy (in this case Lucy Fowler email). She contacted me on Plenty of Fish dot come and within days was asking me to send her money (to pay for her internet service). There were a couple things that were screwy to me including the fact that all of her pictures appeared to have been professionally done.

She also sent me a bouquet of flowers.

I was recently contacted by this person who claimed her was Joyce Afua Mansa Ayinor. Within 2 weeks she was asking for money to pay for her internet service. Claimed not to have a phone. She did web cam in but it kept freezing. It did appear to be her but the picture was not good. She's good, beware. Says all the fright things including being madly in love with me. Also, as fate would have it,my roomamtes co-worker hasd contact with her last year. same bullshit info, same pictures

Glad you were able to avoid being scammed. Hopefully your roommate's co-worker was also.

A couple of quick points:

She did web cam in but it kept freezing.

The webcam kept freezing because it wasn't real. Based on the photos posted, the real girl was undoubtedly a porn model/actress at some point in time. The scammer found some online videos of her, and used easily available software to modify that video and turn it into fake webcam. The freezing was a result of looping and editing the video.

The real person on the other side of those emails is a young African, most likely a male. That's why "she'" didn't have a phone. Eveb i fhe used a female family member or accomplice to handle phone calls, the accent would make you suspicious, so he just avoided it.

Your best course of action is to stop all contact with a scammer once you realize that they are a scammer.

Confronting the scammer does no good. Scammers are practiced liars and they will lie their way into your bank account. Stop communicating with this scammer. Delete him from your contact list and block him from your IM system.

These are not people who you can make friends with. Also please do NOT send them here. That is counter productive to what we are trying to do.
