Information on romance scams and scammers.

Ralph, here are IP addresses from my scammer's emails. I made sure to pull out duplicates. Careful, there is just 1 digit difference in some of these numbers. The IP addresses are listed in the order I received them. My scam lasted exactly 6 weeks.

NEW QUESTION:
Wondering if my scammer is trying to get at me another way now. I was told that once you are scammed, your scammer usually tries to get back at you another way (i.e., new name, profile, etc.)

My scammer approached me on MySpace. I have received a couple messages on MySpace from obvious scammers, 1-at-a-time, since I was scammed and I've had MySpace remove them by their initial email alone.

Today, I received the following "new message" email notices from MySpace:

11:51 a.m. new message from "Oppong"
11:53 a.m. new message from "SCB"
12:07 p.m. new message from "Demir"
12:13 p.m. new message from "Donnovan"

This has not happened, 4 new mesages at once in one day, let alone in 25 min. I have not gone to MySpace since receiving these notices. Is it possible my scammer is trying to hit me again with another name or that he's put my info out on a scammer list?

Thanks so much.

Addendum to my initial topic post --

1. Forgot to note: Received: from [98.136.56.84] is a Yahoo IP address. Scammer may have pulled his IP address out of this one email? I checked every IP address in the header and they are all Yahoo US.

2. Example of the sudden dating emails I'm receiving. One made it past my spam filter directly to my IN box "From: PrfectMatch" "Subject: Here you go. The locals profile and pic site."
Notice the missing "e" in PrfectMatch.

Thanks again.

All the ips starting with 82 are Nigeria, the other couple are more likely relay stations of the base yahoo server, apart from the Russian Federation one. .

Hi Heavensent

The almost identical IP addresses would normally indicate that it is different computers from the same internet cafe so the slightly different IPs is to be expected.

As to the same scammer targetting you again, there is a good chance that is the case, I have seen the same thing myself several times where they realise they are not getting anywhere so they send you emails from a new email address.

I do doubt all of those peopel contacting you will be the same person however

Thanks, Ralph. LOL, looks like the whole internet cafe was working me, huh? LOL. (Or, maybe it's not so funny. When I think of how many Nigerians I shared my days and nights with, it makes me sick. Kinda like emotional rape. :( )

You'll notice a couple originated in the US and one from Russian Federation.

I never open spam emails. I simply delete and empty trash then clean-up computer.

With regard to MySpace messages, I'll go over there now and read the messages. If they appear to be scammers, I'll report them to MySpace. MySpace has removed those I've reported so far :=) Otherwise, it's DELETE DELETE DELETE. I have zero intentions of ever responding to MySpace messages from anywone I do not know personally. I only want to read them so I can report scammers.

Thanks for your patience and all of your assistance.

Now, it's only with my life scammer free forever!
