The internet is a free space in the world. Scammers are every where. As a free space, the good comes with the bad. Scammers hide behind many tricks of the internet. The most effective thing we can do is educate internet users about the tactics and ways of scammers.

Shutting down their accounts means that we lose a "handle" on them and they just open or activate a different email address.

We all share your frustration. We just have to be smarter and more careful than the scammers are brazen. Block anyone who sends you an IM that you don't already know. Don't respond to offers which sound too good to be true.

Don't sent money by Western Union or any other money transfer service, unless you know the person in your real life. Do not send money to anyone you meet on the internet, unless you just want it to be a gift.

Stay around and help us expose scammers.

Yes, I have sadly fallen pray to someone using these same pictures, except he calls himself Cpt. Joseph "Burke" Blevins, email [email protected], Birthdate 12/11/1970, homes in Texas and Michigan and currently stationed in Spain. I won't bother going into the details. Suffice it to say that I was sent all of the pictures shown on this page and the MO was very much the same. Claims to be a widower of 7 years (lost wife in car crash), but no children.
