I would feel more happy, if she likes dogs and be the sort of person that would rather pick up a stray from the animal shelter than spend big money on a purebred puppy. She should like people and being social. Socially aware either through the work she does or the volunteering she does when she can. Most important, she should be mature enough to be willing to support me in my profession and business career.

'Brad' - if that's his real name, made contact with me through the dating site matchaffinity. When I went back to try and retrace his first message and look at his profile page in order to report him to the site administrators, I couldn't locate him, either because he blocked me or he's removed himself from the site.

He has a facebook page, which only allows you to send him a private message, and an accessible info page with the same blurb: 'caught wife and best friend in the act / both parents died in a car crash' etc.. too much of an unbelievable story!

And yes, he did ask me to send him some money, apparently he was stuck in the US. The facts just didn't add up, and I was hoping to find a way to report him. Although no money was sent to him, I was determined to let people know of what he's doing - is the picture he's put on facebook and on the site of himself? I doubt it. I wonder if the actual person knows what he's up to.

No. He just stole some photos from the internet. The real owner of the photos may know about it--but unfortunately, whether he knows or not, there's nothing he can do about it, as the scammer has saved the photos to his own drive and there is no way to get them back.

He's not British, and he's not stuck in the US. Chances are he has never even been to the US. He is a young, black, African man who makes his living stealing from people he finds online.

If he has used any different information with you (new email, etc.) please post it here to help alert others.

Could you believe the banks here in the State refuses to cash my Check! They want me to have it deposit for 20-30 working days which is waiting another 4-6 weeks. The Check I have with me is a certified bank Check, drawn from Nat West Bank and my Check use to be good as cash but they want me to have it deposit just because of the amount on it which is £27,000. The problem is I have spent all the cash I have at hand and in the bank on my purchases. I explained to them how urgent it is for me to take care of my shipment. I spent more than 4 hours with the shipper looking for a bank to cash the Check. Believe me Sweetie, we couldn't find one, not even HSBC or Citi Bank which are international banks. They still require me to have it deposited for 30 working day. Meanwhile, my merchandise are already waiting shipment sealed inside the container at the Port here in Phoenix. The shipper got frustrated and had to leave back to his office because he has some other clients waiting for him. I couldn't waste anytime, I went straight to the UK consulate (Embassy), they said the same thing. I was told due to the large attempt on International/Local Frauds and Scams going on in the banking industries here in the US, I will have to follow the banking rules and regulation requiring every International Check over $10,000.00 will have to be deposit for 20-30 business days. I was told not even Bank draft are accepted or negotiable here in the US. Only Travelers Checks are accepted and could be cashed instantly. Any international Check over $10,000.00 will have to be declared and deposited as stated in the banking constitution....sigh! I got totally frustrated and confused.




I just got back to the hotel now with this serious headache. I am so afraid I am going to miss my flight because I cant leave my shipment behind and still have some custom duties to settle with insurance. Also, my container has limited time to stay in the port since it has been already booked for shipment, I cant even get any of my things out of the Port. I was suppose to pay cash at the KLM office desk before 48 hours for the rescheduled flight, just so anxious to get my things shipped out of here with myself. I really don't know why is this happening when we were suppose to meet. I have never experience such since I have been travelling. My Check use to be good as cash. I am totally confused and depressed right now because I am not here with my Credit Cards, this Check is all I have got. I just got my Credit Cards deactivated last month when I noticed my Ex was still using it to pay her bills since she use to be the second Card-holder to my CC. I think I need to take a nap now, I'm having this serious headache with lost appetite since morning. I am so stressed out physically and mentally right now. I hope you can sense how I am actually feeling. I have spent all my available capital and funds on this huge purchase, the booking for my shipment and customs duties at the seaport. I am totally out of cash and its making me going crazy right now.

This is definitely "scammer logic."

If you look at some of the information on check scams here at scamwarners, you will learn that the exact opposite of what he said is true.

By law, if a bank hasn't determined a check is fake, they have to pay out the cash in a certain number of days (the actual number depends on the type of check, but they are all less than 2 weeks.) They absolutely could not hold the money for 6 weeks--IIRC it is less than one week for certified checks.

Later, if they determine the check is fraudulent, they can take the money back, but not until it has been proven fraudulent, and of course the scammer is claiming he has a legitimate check.

Ha, those are the same pics he sent me! He also sent me this which is basically the same story as above...

Isn't the drivers seat on the right side of a car in the UK? I have never been so I am not sure. But, I think this person may be from the states with the clothing and hat that he has shown in the pics. Also, he sent me a pic with the mascott of a US baseball team. It is too bad because whoever it is in those pics is a nice looking guy. It is unfortunate if it is actually him that he feels the need to scam people! Hopefully, he has a day job because he sucks at this one!!!

Why are such scammers not exposed in the media, perhaps the owner of the pictures need to be made aware; whether it IS the person himself, although I can understand when it comes to stolen pictures there's nothing the person can do...

i recently came across what appeared to be a genuine guy, living in my area in the UK, on the dating site. datingforparents.com i sent him a couple of lines email about a week ago. his profile name is braduniqueblueye . he just emailed me today and i dont know why i was a little suspicious (probably because this site has a few dubious profiles) and as his profile is so open and full of self pity with a lot of info and not the type normally written by guys. also i realised he hadnt checked my profile when replying which means he didnt check me at all but his email suggests he did. i am naturally cynical anyway so i tried to search his name brad palmer for the area he said he lived in - lancing, sussex , uk- but no references on google. then i discovered the very same guy on your scammers website with same pictures! so glad to have found out this information before i emailed him again. thank u so much... quite worrying to think these people exist. here is the email he sent to me so other people can see what he writes..

Brad Palmer is now Daniel Palmer, [email protected]. He is using the same old story about cheating wife and best friend. He now is claiming to live in MT and in London for work. I am betting my next email from him will be one to ask for money. He story was getting too good to be true so I Google several things he told me. Like address and places he worked. All those came back at true places. I even sent did Google search on the pictures when I first got them. The first few I didn’t get a hit on. However, with last one I found this website. I even Google the title of his last email, and it led me to a website that sold software to help people write love letters. He used the example one, almost word for word. WTF! I think he just copy and pasted it. He is learning thou. One of the post said they pointed out that he was on the wrong side of the car for London. He said he will be sending me the picture but explained ahead time why his on the wrong side. That his taxi driver is form the States and that the drive brought his own car over to England form the States. Also claiming to be born in CA but raised in Germany so speaks with a German accent. However, when I sent message in German he didn’t respond to it.
So everyone beware he is still looking for targets.
