Is he a fake of real soldier

Hi-I will try to get this post right.
I have this soldier i am talking with .
He has a pic up,if you Google it you see its every where and you see that the flag on his shoulder is up side down.
I don;t know if this a fake soldier or what.
then HE SENDS ME OTHER PIC AND IT DON;T LOOK LIKE HIM.
HE SAYS HE IS IN AFGHAN RIGHT NOW ON A PEACE MISSION.
