This is the 2nd letter from Joey smith

Attention: Mrs. removed
I have succeded in making all arrangements and also contacting all the top officials attached with the Custom services, and everything is under control, but you have to trust me and follow my guidelines. I have inquired from our Foreign affairs commission back in London, UK as regards to the sender's personal income tax. So everything will be taken care of from my ends. But you have to pay for our diplomatic immune commission which is RM 3,125.00.

Be Informed that this fee is a refundable deposit which will be given back to you at the point of delivery. You ought to know that we have gotten the actual location of your luggage, but it seems that you are working with the wrong link. There are going to be a delay of 24hrs to have your package released due to the public holiday going on in Malaysia for the Chinese Lunar New Year.

So kindly make the payment today and get back to me once you have made the payments and I will commence with the clearance and sorting out to have your package released at most on Monday, you have to do the need to enable me facilitate the release and delivery of your luggage at the appointed date.

Have the payment make to the below account of our malaysian internal service officer's account and update me once you have done so.

Bank: Maybank
Bank Address: Ampang Park Shopping Centre 184 Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Account Name: Gurcharan Kaur
A/p Gurbachan Singh
Account Number: 162526171741

I will be waiting to hear from you soon. For your information, you don't have to get in touch with the sender nor the diplomats for the main time. Mind you that am doing this to help you because i was explained that your mortgaged your house to get the money you have sent to them and you stand the chance of losing everything if you don't get the luggage soon or providing any prove. Do not forget that once we confirm the payment of the diplomatic immune commission that we are going to issue you a certificate which proves that we are working towards recovering your luggage but you have to keep it confidential.

Thanks once again.
Mr. Joey Smith

I'm sorry that you were scammed, Marylin. If you read through these boards, you will find that you are not alone. Lots of kind, caring, intelligent people have been victims to these thieves. Unfortunately, they don't care who they hurt or how much harm they do, as long as they get money.

There are instructions for posting photos in my signature. If the fake courier company website is still active, we will get some of our volunteers to see if they can get it killed.

These scammers are so low that they will continue to try to steal from you, even when they know you are devastated, emotionally and financially. Often they will move on to recovery scams, in which the scammer poses as an investigator or official (police officer, etc.) and tells you he can help you get your money back. You need to be aware of these scams so that you are not vulnerable to them.
