Two weeks after talking to the scammer who referred to himself as Leo, he began asking me to send him things while he was stationed over in Afghanistan. He told me that he was a widower and had one small child, a boy, who was currently living with his dead wife's sister in the Netherlands. I sent him the package because I felt sorry for him and because it wasn't a lot and I felt like all I was loosing was a few hundred if it didn't pan out. He asked for a cell phone so that he could call me. I started to think how weird it was that I had to send the package to Ghana, and then he told me he loved me after never meeting me and knowing me for only one month, so I began checking online and found this site. I was able to find his aliases here as well and matched up the IP addresses and they were the same. .

He goes by the name:

Leonard Milton Weber email address: [email protected]. His other aliases are [email protected] or
[email protected]


He is also on facebook and now on okcupid. I saw similar profiles.

His IP address is 98.139.175.224 which shows up as Sunnyvale.

The following are two of the emails that he sent me.

This is one of the first ones:

Good morning Sunshine. I'm writing this to explain to you how I feel. Tracy, I am starting to fall for you, and it is driving me crazy, because I can't seem to tell you how I really feel. I need to know where I stand in your life and if it could ever be more than what we are now. I'm starting to develop strong feelings towards you. I love your eyes, your smile, your hair, your body and everything about you... I need to know how you feel about me. Could you possibly feel the same towards me, well, who knows? . I just want you to be mine. I want to be able to say that you're my woman. Well, now you know that I am falling in love with you. I just wish I could hear those same words from you. Maybe one day or really soon, but until then I guess all I can do is wait. Please, don't make me wait too long!
Right now am going to bed and think this is my right time to tell you about this.. Good night.. Kisses and hugs..

This is the most recent email that he sent me professing his love only after knowing me for one month:

Good Morning Sunshine. If only I could have come up with the right words to describe the depth of this beautiful feeling that I have for you, I would have whispered them to you the first time we met. The best thing that I can do is to show you now.
I love you, Sweetie. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. You are like the best poetry ever composed, the best song ever played, the best picture ever painted. I never thought that someone like me could get so lucky!
I am loving you more than I can think of, more than my world. I love you more and more each day and that is the most wonderful feeling any man can ever hope to experience. Love you!!

I searched for his photo on google and tineye and nothing poped up

He is now back on match using a different username it is : KnightInArmor333. I will be reporting him to Match and hopefully they kick him off.

[I'm sorry you lost money to this scammer, though glad that you checked it out before getting in any deeper. Unfortunately, there are thousands of scam profiles out there--as long as scammers get money this way, they will continue.

One small note though:

His IP address is 98.139.175.224 which shows up as Sunnyvale

The same IP does not always mean the same person. If a scammer uses an internet cafe, for example, the IP address may tie to a computer used by dozens of different people.

In the case of a Sunnyvale IP, it really doesn't tell you much of anything. Sunnyvale is where yahoo's servers are located, which just means that you are seeing a yahoo IP. The scammer is inevitably located in Ghana, since that is where he had you send the package (and it is one of the top 3 locations for these romance scammers.) If you look in the headers, it is very possible you will see "NNFMP" somewhere in the headers. This is an indication of a forged header.
NNFMP is most often associated with spammers and scammers, so any time you see it, you should consider it a red flag.

Dotti thank you so much for this site. If it hadn't been here, I could have very well fallen much deeper with this jerk. I just can not believe it. He sounded so very real and yes, the Ideal Man. I should have known it was too good to be true. Again, thank you for all the work that you do. Fortunately all I lost was about 250 usd, which I knew was a possibility when I sent the stuff. Can you believe it. T-Shirts, Coffee and a silver chain and cell phone.

You were right Dottie. I traced his header information on IPtracker and it indicated that the originating address is from Ghana.
