More about myself: elaxation.
I value physical fitness and regular exercise but I'm not obsessed about it. I'm told I look younger than my age but that's subjective, of course.
I don't take myself too seriously. I appreciate a quick wit and love to laugh (typically at my own expense)! Until I get to know someone, I tend to be somewhat quiet and reserved. I have to develop a level of trust with new acquaintances before I am comfortable in "opening up." But I'm still awkward talking about myself. I consider myself to be a good listener. I enjoy being with and among a variety of people in various social settings, from formal to laid-back and casual. I am insatiably curious about the world around me, and I'm a self-confessed "news junkie." I enjoy the experience of trying and learning new and different things but I would not describe myself as a risk-taker.
I'm a pretty typical guy in many respects. I read the sports page first, root for the Chiefs, Royals and K-State Wildcats (sorry Jayhawk fans!), exercise to stay in shape, like to wear 501s, enjoy time with my buddies, and wonder where all the good women are. See? I told you I was typical.
I'm self-employed, so I have to work hard and sometimes long hours. But I enjoy the freedom of being my own boss and setting my own schedule.
My favorite activities include running, movies, snow skiing, tennis, dining out and a wide variety of cultural activities. I am actively involved in my community through various organizations and my church.
Everyone has quirks and I’m no different. Here are some of mine: I don’t really like beer but do appreciate the cold sting of a dry martini. Red wine gives me a headache but white wine does not. I love fog. Liver is gross. Dark chocolate should be its own food group. I abhor arrogance and ego maniacs. I am becoming increasingly curious and questioning. If I won the lottery, I’d return to college and take every course that I could. I don’t hunt, fish, play golf or gamble. I play cards only at gunpoint. I wear sunscreen. I frequently misplace my car keys, cell phone, checkbook, etc. Prejudiced and judgmental people sicken me. I wonder what my dog thinks when she stares at me.
Now that I'm officially "middle aged," I am seeking "balance" in my life, and the right woman would certainly be a major step in that direction! I'm looking for same traits in a signficant other as everyone else—honesty, maturity, intelligence, compassion and willingness to forgive.
If you're still reading at this point, I'm impressed! I hope to hear from you but if not, best wishes in your search!
