Information on romance scams and scammers.
by rmendels Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:16 am
Started getting these love letter emails from a Warren Morgan who says he's a senior fund consultant with Tt&T Finance. After learning about these online dating scams, a friend and I emailed his company (and sent photos he sent me) to verify his employment. First clue was the response and that person replying responded with two different last names and confirmed this guy was a bonafide employee, which an employer wouldn't necessarily do via email. I then researched the company and though website (http://www.ttnt-finance.com) looks totally legit, fraudwatchers.org confirmed they are a scam. They suggested I post on this site as well because this company may also be a front for internet dating scams.

Here is first note received from company:

Hello rmendels!

You are correct the site is fake it's actually suspended now. Can you please post the email addresse and phone numbers if you have them from the original scammer? That way when someone googles the scammers name they will find the warning.

Justin

Edit: please post the photos here as well so we have complete profile of the scammer in one spot.

I'm so glad these scammers are now known and website is now officially suspended! The phone number "Warren Morgan" gave me to use while he was supposedly in U.S. is 940-604-9881 and the number he used while in the UK is 447924599091.

Here's the first email I received from him after responding to his initial match.com message. URL to photos should appear below.

I want to thank you for your email which I am very happy to read. I know you will find me interesting to be with when this relationship develops as I have seen that we are seeking the same thing in life. Words can’t express how excited I feel right now.

I am a God fearing, affectionate, outgoing, active, energetic ,positive, generous man with a healthy sense of humor who is rediscovering all that life has to offer .I am a Fun loving, humble man with the believe that a woman should be treated like a lady and that it is always ladies first. I am a Fund Manager that loves my work the way I love to enjoy life. I am fun to be with and can be very romantic. I am positive on everything that life brings me. I believe that I am where I am at this point in my life for a good reason. I am an honest and caring person who is very loyal to those I care about. I've travelled extensively in the course of doing my work. I am financially very okay. I consider myself to be a gentleman with good values. I am equally comfortable in a suit and tie as well as a pair of jeans. I am neat and clean in my living and my appearance. I enjoy nice things

I am so happy to have come across you and i know that that you would want us to take this relationship slowly but I will try to be positive and consistent. I know you will not see me as moving fast as have come to understand that I will need a serious relationship in my life.

I was so excited when I read your profile; I really need a lady that is passionate and caring. Some one that is ready to spend the rest of her life with me. Someone that can accept me with my joking attitude, people say that I play with everything except my work. But what they did not know is that I can play with my work but not with my relationship or someone that I love .That is what I know that I can’t play with. This is why I prefer people that will appreciate my humorous attitude. I am fun to be with and believe in the saying, ‘the older the wine, the better” so I don’t believe in age being a hindrance in a relationship. Let ’s talk and get to know more about ourselves better.

I like seeing soccer, movies and listening to music. I like going to the beach and climbing mountains. Though I have only climbed once at Dublin . Am currently attached to Tt&T as a Senior Consultant Fund Manager, but would want to be self employed in near future. I am a trained educationist and learnt the Fund Management trade under Robert Kiyosaki. I worked with him for seven years speaking on investing, fund management and teaching on how to benefit from the content of his three major books, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Rich Dad's CASHFLOW Quadrant, and Rich Dad's Guide to Investing. It was while on a tour with him to Aberdeen Scotland that I was made on offer by Tt&T. I worked with them for 6 years before I return to United States and now work as a Consultant Fund Manager.

Attached below are some of my recent pictures and expect to get yours , I really can’t wait to be happy again forever. It has been a very long while since I tasted relationship and love. I pray that this comes out well as I am ready to give my all for this relationship. I can create all the time in the world to make it work as my job is not too demanding. .You will never regret meeting me, my late wife never did, so you will not. I promise!!!

Regards
Warren

This doesn't sound like the writing of someone educated in the US or the UK, whatever sort of "educationist" he is.

Searching "I am a trained educationist and learnt the Fund Management trade under Robert Kiyosaki"

shows the script has been around for at least 6 months. The scammmers were using the name "Kelvin Mounts" here: http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/2348023383717/5

Thanks Dotti for the info about the posts on the other website referring to same guy or group of scammers with same/similar story! I went to that website to also post the info on the name and phone info the jerk used with me in case he tries to use same info again. Even when I sent him multiple emails calling him a liar and scammer, he still had the nerve to call me from a private number telling me I was wrong and how much I supposedly hurt him with my accusation yet he never could provide any proof. Told him that we single middle-age women may be gullible but we sure aren't STUPID!

Don't tell him he's a liar and a scammer. Don't say anything to him. Just cut off contact.

Telling a scammer that he's a scammer does nothing to make him stop scamming. He'll just deny it and scam someone else. What may stop them from scamming is drying up the supply of victims and the supply of money they get by scamming.

And please don't tell the scammer how you found out that he's a scammer! That's educating the scammer, and we don't want them to get any better at scamming.

I sent a link from a KNBC story that exposed this problem on Match.com and have no regrets for doing that. I think these idiots need to know we are on to them and won't tolerate their BS one darn bit. Personally, I'm glad I had a chance to call him a liar and scammer so he knew he was busted at least with me. I hope that by spreading and sharing our stories we can aprise others so they don't make the same mistakes.
by Justin Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:15 pm
Spreading the information is great it creates awareness which is exactly what we want. The reason we do not suggest calling a scammer out is it does no good and can actually do harm. He already knows he is a scammer so calling him out does not really do anything. What it can do is make him second guess and improve his tactics. That's what we do not want to happen. That is why we say just stop all communication.

It's done now so no worries. I'm glad you avoided the scam and please do keep creating awareness its the best defense and offense against Internet scammers.
