I met this scammer on Flirt.com. He claimed that he was in the military stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Well, I just heard from "Sgt. Craig Williams in Afghanistan" today, receiving the exact same form letter and the first photo as was reprinted here. Only now he's using the handle "Beach1313" (unlucky number times two for sure) at Plenty of Fish (POF). I seem to be receiving these Nigerian scams more as time goes by. I'm at other dating sites and even where one must pay a users fee they can be found, although with much less frequency (eH least of all).

I've never corresponded with them past 1-2 notes. There are too many warning signs for me, inc'g how (esp. at Match.com) they're often quite handsome for their age, widowers ("oh, poor man"), earn $100,000+/yr, they have only one child (not too many, or by having none precludes suspicion of them of disliking kids, or narcissism), ALWAYS date older (or "up"). This is especially suspicious as very few men of 40+ yrs are interested in women a generation older than they- SO unlikely; they're past the age of experimentation (unlike 20-somethings with "milf's"), so don't flatter yourself here. Lonely older ladies with no common sense and independent incomes are THE target.

They also write with a formal, stilted language. It's often laced with such romance, loving affection, dreams of the future and desires, and is far too flowery for the way modern American men would ever normally write (especially a soldier!) to a stranger.

I was very saddened to hear this particular soldier was a casualty. That makes this scammer whose address of Massey St, Lagos, Nigeria someone I would personally like to rip limb from limb. After reading about Black Hawk Down of several years back, and a former USAF airman myself, I'm more repulsed than words can say.

No man is ever worth the lending or offering of money by a woman (committed live-together relationships aside); it goes against nature. Thank you for reading this; I hope it helps somehow.
