Two scammers for the price of one

I have attached two emails from what seems to be from 2 different men, but once you read the emails, you can tell they are either from the same person, or one scammer copied from another. It is ridicoulous how these people can get away whith so much. I have yet to meet a "real" person on this dang website "Match.com". If these idiots want to continue to target me, I will continue to report them. The first email I received first. The second however, from George Hennessey, I made contact with first before Daniel.

It was nice chatting with you these morning? Like said I might have to take my profile off Match. I found this post when searching about the scammer I have been in contact with. He is one in the same as George. The way he uses his ? in his emails is a tell. I met this man on Match.com. His profile said he resided in Colfax, NC. His photos are all different though. He goes by the name Atawhai Nelson now using the email account [email protected]. The IPs I am getting from him are from Cyprus...but yet he tells me he has a contract in Istanbul he just won and is flying out from New York where he was signing his new contract. He claimed he was a General Contractor in the Film Industry. I have only spoke to him on the phone a few times and texted to him. Mainly was all email at first.

This is the first email I received when he finally told me about himself:

I have been writing this particular letter for some time now and I am glad I finished it to send to you now during my lunch hour, so you can read today. I have been seriously tied up with work and had little time to respond to your emails and tell you a little about myself. I hope you are having a stress free day with work ? Today is just like the last few days. I already had a presentation and I will have to prepare for more. With the way things stand right now, I am sure I won't get to finish these negotiations until the end of this week.

You wanted to know about me ? so to tell you about me, my main purpose of getting on match.com is to look for a long term relationship which will be long lasting and serious. I work as a General contractor for documentary film makers and channels like HBO and National Geographic. I work mostly on the preparations of film/project sites and I also work with subcontractors and short film producers when there is need for it. I was born in New Zealand but living in the United States. You mention that you have a friend from an area that is called the same as my name ? Tell me about it. I was happily engaged and getting set to get married until I lost my fiancee in a car accident. I am not looking for a fling of any kind. What I'm looking for is true love. I am not looking for physical appearance rather I am looking for true love which is only in the heart. I want to be happy for the rest of my life with that special woman. You mentioned about your last relationship and what you want from a new one. I believe we are both looking for the same things and all we need to do now is make things work out between us. I understand how you feel when you return to an empty house and the longings to have someone that is yours. Thats how I feel too at times and I have always wished to find someone that knows exactly what it means to have someone in their lives.

I will upload photos ASAP!! This guy is a true con artist....stay clear! Fortunately, I outsmarted him before he had a chance to even get to asking me for money.

I know that this post is a bit old and didn't see any additional photos or posts, but I believe after searching over the last couple days that this Atawhai Nelson is the same person who has scammed me except with another name. Similarities include my scammer's name is also from New Zealand...from the Maori people. The photos I have of him I can't find elsewhere. Nor can I find the name he's been using anywhere. I've lots of contact, phone, text, email. He says he worked on large commercial renovations for National Geographic channel. At the time I met him on Match.com, he was working on a presentation bid for a huge job. Subsequently awarded it and flew to NYC to negotiate the contract. They wanted him to go to the site and the job was to take 3 weeks.

The story goes on from there and I can recount all of it, but want to see if there is anyone else out there with this kind of contact. I have loads of email headers, all the texts.

Right now I'm devastated. I had no doubts on this man even with some of the oddities. I've been corresponding with him for nearly 3 months. As a couple things have come up over the last couple days that I brought up to him, we've had some difficult conversations. He comes off as hurt, not angry. Today is the first day that I've not heard from him at all, very strange since what he ultimately seems to be after has had some hang ups and problems...so no communication is highly strange.

If this sounds familiar to anyone, I'd be so grateful to hear that.

Hi raven018, welcome to scamwarners. We often see this- a scammer will step away, start up with the same name or same pictures, change it up a bit and off he goes to find more victims. I'm sorry this happened to you. I also got scammed on match.com by someone who didn't show up on internet picture searches or any website as a scammer. i thought I was safe, fell head over heels in love, and enjoyed the whole lovely fairy tale until the requests for money came in. I see you were in contact for 3 months, so you had to have been well on your way to envisioning a brand new life with this person. It's such a slap in the face, yet I'm sure you are glad you went no further.
Please do not stay in contact with the scammer. His sole mission will be to keep you in the lie and believing him. We don't say someone is a scammer unless we know it is true. The signs are all there. If you have any doubts, just post the email headers and we will investigate further. But you already know the truth.
Now comes the hard part. Reality hits. And it really bites. i had a hard time. i looked at my scammer's pictures for quite some time. I had wanted that person to come to me and he never would. I wanted a new life I would never had, I had to look in the mirror every day and know that I had been lied to and scammed. I felt really foolish for sending money too, money I could have used for better purposes. But I was so glad in my heart that I stopped. I stopped the scam. I stopped him from hurting me. And sometime later, after I posted here, I saw my words were found and someone else stopped their scam. That helped.
Please post pictures, records of chat with your personal information removed. It may help someone else. And let us know if we can do anything further to help you.
