Hi,

While I was online on Skype somebody named Samuel Miller added me. Thinking that he is one of my clients ( i am working as a homebased agent for US companies ) I added him.

I asked him, hi are you from the <online employment website> ? He answered "43 single american". Then he asked me how old I am and from where I am. I answered him. We've been chatting for a week now. He said his wife passed away 5 years ago and left him with an 11 year old son. He told me that he is working in the US army and he is currently is Sudan for peace keeping mission. He is really sweet and he sent me his photos. Then he said he wants to meet me if I am really serious. (well I'm so stupid falling for him easily) I said of course I want to meet him. He said he can arrange something so we can make that possible. He asked me to send a "request for freedom from camp" to [email protected] and so I did. Then I received a reply from an "officer" named Robert S. Carter (US Army Chief Executive). Below is the actual email.

Note: This is how it was sent to me. No typo graphical errors from me.

It's a total scam. The person in contact with you is young, black African scammer, not the mature, widowed American soldier he pretends to be.
People from outside the military cannot make requests for soldiers. The moment a "soldier" asks you to make a request for him, you can already be certain he is a scammer.

You can see an overview of this scam here: http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6527

Just cut off all contact with this scammer now.

re: Am I being scammed? The answer is yes, a fraudulant scammer is attempting to deceive you. There is no lovely nice military person in contact with you. The very naughty samuel and the e-mail from the military base, is the same scammer or members of the same scam syndicate. If you scroll to the top of this page to the site search function, type in military scam or soldier leave. Sad to say the forums are littered with them.
Would be worth you reading through them and a famliar pattern will soon emerge. You will then know what to look out for next time. Be wary in the coming weeks because now a scammer knows your contact detail, they might target you again.
