Ive contacted the admistrators at DatingHookup.com and they refuse to remove his profile. I explained that Im just trying to protect their members. But they refuse to take it down. That is the one thing I just dont understand about these sites, if someone has documented these crimes. Protect your members.

This is typical of African scammers. They make threats like this to scare people into withdrawing complaints. In reality these young men are cowards, hiding behind a computer halfway across the world from the people they are trying to steal from, often in areas where law enforcement is corrupt and will look the other way for a bribe. Even if they could fly to where their victims live (besides being very expensive, they need the appropriate visas, etc.) they would actually be facing a real risk of being caught and prosecuted. They wouldn't be able to bribe their way out of a situation, and they would be traceable.

It's a risk they won't take.

I would love to ignore him! He is now going around to my posts and saying that Im the one who scammed him?! Ive never met this man, and yes I know Im an idiot. I understand that part .... but I feel like Im being violated for a second time. I guess he wins, I regret saying anything.

This too is typical of a low-life scammer. They are the criminal, but they turn around and try to trash their victims. Don't regret posting him, though. Look at it this way--if he is angry enough to threaten you and post you as a scammer, there's a good chance it is because your posts have had a negative impact on him. Most likely your posts alerted someone else he was trying to scam and resulted in that person walking away. That means your posts have had a positive effect. You have saved another victim's money, and also kept money he didn't deserve out of his hands. He's also wasted time trying to get back at you- and that means less time available to scam others.

Eventually he will realize that harassing you is losing him money and he will stop.

Dotti, I hope your right. Im so tired of crying and being scared. I already had major trust issues, now Im scared I will never trust anyone again. When I say that this man literally destroyed my life ... that is not being dramatic. My intentions of doing was really to help any other woman out there, that might be lured in by him. I know that I can not get my money back, or fix the wrongs done by this man. I simply didnt want any other woman to suffer they way I am.

They closed down his email address, at least this might slow him down a bit.

Major scammer...I hope he gets caught soon....he has hurt me in so many ways. I am recovering from the damages that he helped to cause. I know I was stupid but I am digging my way out of the mess...

Sadly, scammer very rarely get caught. They hide behind fake names and email addresses. Any name, address, phone number or story line they told you is not really them. These are all disposable so they don't get caught. The police do not have resources to chase after someone who is in a different country from you. Scammers rely on this. They know what they are doing and they do it well.

I found him under some of the other scam sites...basically the same story. Trapped in Nigeria and needs money.
