A colleague of mine has recently fallen victim to this moron through an online dating site 'christianmingle.com'. He pretends that his website is - http://carstenoilandgas.com

(Notice the sloppy use of "© Friedmann Oil & Gas | Put | Other | Links | Here" at the bottom of the home-page.)

I found your website by searching for their 'objective / mission statement' posted on the home page, namely

Our objective is to maintain our reputation in the global renewable energy industry as a high-performing organisation characterized by operational and technical excellence

Much of the text, including all of what is on the home page can also be found here - http://alexsentech.com/about_us.php which is presumably, the same scammer.

The text off the homepage was lifted from this academic paper - http://www.skillsdrivertraining.co.uk/s ... 11206.full

Unfortunately, she purchased a £20 mobile phone top-up voucher and sent it to him by email, but fortunately, that's all he's conned her for. I told her to go through the 'yahoo messenger' chat logs which they communicate through, but she has not given him enough personal information to conduct any sort of ID theft.

Hope this helps someone!

DATING SITE SCAM WARNING - July 2012

This supposedly German businessman (Carsten Friedmann) tried to con me into making me think he was in love with me and was on a business trip in South Africa, but would be coming to see me when he returned to London. He found me from a dating site and asked me to leave it because he said that him and me had found each other and he had already left the site, something he really did to protect himself so that no-one could make a complaint about him He also asked me to use Yahoo Messenger so that we could converse whilst he was supposedly away on business. I realized that something was not right quite early on whilst using Messenger and talking to him (well I realized it wasn't really him when he couldn't remember things relating to me and kept just answering with silly replies) I then had a feeling that whoever was replying was replying to lots of women at once as it would take minutes before I got replies from my questions on Yahoo Messenger. Thankfully I was sensible and stopped talking to him, but please don't let anyone with his name, or any other dubious person take you to the cleaners, because there's no doubt that this was his mission. If I had been gullible enough and continued talking to him, I'm sure he would have tried to get me to send him some money sooner or later. Thanks goodness that didn't happen. From a lady in the UK
