Similar story to others here. Guy saying his name is Braden Repetto contacted me on Match.com, member name ORLANDER 2454, said he was interested, wanted me to talk to only him & turn off my profile In Match.com, also turned his profile off, & wanted to chat on instant message on Yahoo. He had no pictures on Match but when I asked he emailed a couple, one in camos another with another soldier.Said he was 49 yrs old, an E-9 master sergeant, retiring in a month after 20 years in the Army, currently in Kabul, Afghanistan. Said he was moving to my area. Also said divorced and wife abandoned him & son. After a couple days of chatting for about an hour on instant message, said he was in love with me. I thought it was strange & desperate, a couple of other things were not adding up, and I could not find any records of him in Miami area he said he was from. I asked a friend that is in the Army to look him up, and before I heard back he sent me this ridiculous email:
Babe i wanted to keep this a surprise to when i get to the states but i feel unsecured now and i want to let you know of it.Included in the Interior Minister's reward fund was a package of jewels, gold and diamonds which he gave me because i told him my plans for retirement was to open a jewelry store when i get to the states..So he gave me this precious jewels to take home.
I was very grateful to him for this gifts and he told me not to worry because i deserved it..As you know i will be retiring very soon and coming home to meet you..It's not safe keeping this jewelries here with me at the camp..
I know you have been loving and caring to me,you have been honest with from the start and i love you so much..
I trust you and in you i want to confine this jewels..I have made all formal arrangements to let the diplomat deliver the package to you at the states for safe keeping till i return..I know you will do this for me honey. They are precious minerals and i can't afford to loose them here. When you have it, please keep it safe for me...i love you so much...kisses.
Back to my story. I knew for sure then he was a scammer. I politely turned him down, then he asked me to send him a cellphone so we could talk on Skype while he was on a 3 week mission to northern Afghanistan, because he "had no access to his funds" there. Again turned him down. Asked him his real name, and he said to F off and not contact him!! What a corker!! Found out from my friend in the Army this guy might be impersonating a guy in the reserves with a similar first name, Branden, who is younger. So now his fake name is out there. What a waste of time talking to him. WATCH OUT.
