If he claims to be on active duty and is chatting with you, he's highly likely to be a scammer. Real soldiers on active duty don't have time to chat with strangers. If he can't give you an address ending in ".mil", he's not in the US military. If he asks you to apply for his leave, he's a scammer.

He was on match and sent me a smile.

All was well until he mentioned they had no money there and he wanted me to buy and send (to England and not any US base) an ipod and Dr Dre Earphones.

It came up when I asked if I could send him anything... That was a huge red flag and I checked here.

I reported him to match.com

He appears to be targeting women in Ottawa as he created a faks Facebook page lsiting his home twon as Ottawa.

I do have an address as to where he wanted me to send the stuff. When I said I'm not sening money, he mentioned western union. It is in the UK where the Bberry is.

I feel awful for the man whose photo he used! What if his family ssaw it on match or worse, the poor man died. It's disgusting!

I played along with "Jack" and he got more and more pressing about my sending him money. I asked him to write me from his military account and told him I'd traced hhe emails.

He never wrote back.
