I was almost get scammed by a pretending to be a Captain of the US Marine in Kuwait at the moment. For some reason this morning I decided to google the sites for military personnel scams. I was still in touch with him till Tuesday this week and asking me to pay up the delivery charges for his apparent personal effects and a large sum of money with it. The money apparently came from a raid that they did in Afghanistan.last year. Apparently they found gold bars as well. He wanted to send them to me so we can start a life together as a couple. I have family that told me it's a scam but I refuse to believe it. He sounded genuine but yes too good to be true. I never had anything to do with dating websites till I met him through Netlog. Not sure whether I am allowed to name and shame him. He was really a charmer, so eloquent. Not bad looking too. But I didn't pay cause when I googled the courier company and their email address, turned out that their account has been suspended. But he was still insistent that He is a real person and that He will surprise me. Boy I was really stupid, to believe him. He sent me photos of his family, his comrades, his house in Honolulu, Hawaii and everything. I thought he was for real. But turned out to be A BIG SCAMMER.

The name of the US Army Captain is SEAN KNABE. Currently in Kuwait. He came from Honolulu, Hawaii. He is 47 years old and was born on the 7th of July 1965 if anybody is interested to know. I wanted to post his photos but I am not sure how to do it. He is bogus and a real smooth scammer. So watch out

Welcome thetg116,

I am sorry that you found yourself dealing with a scammer.

The scammer using the name Captain Sean Knabe is not a captain in the US Marines. In fact, he most likely isn't even American.

The scammer has no connection to the person in the photos US military at all. He has likely never even been in the US. He is most likely a young African man who steals money for a living. The photos will be of a real soldier, but the scammer simply took them from the internet to use for his scams.

If you can post some of the emails this scammer sent you, it will help us to confirm that this is a standard African scam format, and it will help other potential victims, as scammers often reuse letters even after they change names. Photos should be marked to prevent others from picking them up here--instructions for marking and posting are in my signature line.

If you haven't done so already, please cut off all contact with the scammer.

Happy to hear you bacame suspicious of the trickster because that is a typical scam story. Soldiers do not prance around "finding" large amounts of money and/or gold bars. And NO, you are not stupid because these fraudulent types are good at what they do. Good to hear you have turned the tables on it.
It's now important, not to confront the scammer in any way. Doing so will only result in more lies being told by the con artist. Stop all contact with it is the best idea. If you look at the email header, that generally shows the origin of the e-mail. If you see an IP number beginning with 41, it's been sent out of Africa.

Thanks guys for all your support. I have deleted most of his messages. But I will try and see if I can find something that suits. He is so eloquent. A smooth talker and a charmer. He knows exactly what to say. I have photos of him that are exactly the same as those you can find on Google images. He was stealing photos all along. Sean Knabe has Facebook account posing as Adam Knabe and David Blaise. He also has Myspace account and on OK Cupid as Sean Knabe

Sean Knabe is still actively using dating sites. He is still posing as David Blaise and Adam Knabe. He has facebook accounts, My space, and still on OK Cupid. Beware of him. He is slippery and smooth. I am sure He is still chatting away with different vulnerable ladies. Watch out, He needs to be stopped.
